yes but no where near as much as lifting weights will
Might depend on what you start with. I'm a small female and my muscles pretty much all increased in size a bit with boxing. I also know a large male body builder who became a bit smaller when training to fight.
it probably also depends on how you spend that one hour "punching".
Can you give us more information about what you do?
A lot of people on this forum who know more about this than me might be able to suggest some other things you can do.

Just punching for an hour a day isnt going to put more muscle on your frame. You gotta have something that you're working toward. The regular boxer's regimen would do you well. Doing the roadwork, and the calisthenics would help get into good shape.

try drinking 4 egg whites and 2 yolks every morning now thats tastyOriginally Posted by Sharla
just noticed you edited your post, with the egg white bit, the egg white is going to have no effect on your muscles unless your eating about 30 egg whites a day, to build lean muscle you want to be getting thru 1.5g protien to every lbs of your body weight.Originally Posted by rocker_v
will twice a day of 1 hour do.Originally Posted by Chris N.
what if i take 8 egg whites and a big glass of soya milk. is it enough.lean muscles ok what about the size of the muscles, will it increase.Originally Posted by themusic
8 whites will mean you are getting 25g of protein and a glass of soya milk has about 8grams, so thats only 33g of protein, i usually eat between 250 and 300g of protein a dayOriginally Posted by rocker_v
Well it will only take you to a certain point, after a while your body will adapt to it so you will no longer be challenging your muscles and giving them a reason to grow. So I guess it depends on what you are doing, but as long as you always change it up then you should continue to gain muscle.
It will not. Just the movement punching alone will not increase your strength or the size of your muscles. To do so you need to work against resistance. All punching will do is overtime condition your body to punch.Originally Posted by rocker_v
There's a few simple exercises that you can do to increase your upperbody strength that doesn't require anything more than enough space to do so. One exercise is the pushup, which there's many different ways of doing. You can make it harder by raising the height of your feet, or by increasing the range of motion, and the distance in between your hands. This will mainly strengthen your chest and triceps muscles.
Another simple exercise is called dips, which can easily be done on a chair.

How? That's a lot of protein man. That's equivalent to 7 of the protein shakes I drink.Originally Posted by themusic
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
i do the punching movement with 8 - 10kg in each hand (you might need to lower the weight) as fast as i can while not getting sloppy on my form for 1 min, and i do 3 sets of this. I really feel it on my muscles
