Yesterday, at the ‘G-Casino’ at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, England, Frank Maloney hosted a press conference ahead of Friday night’s WBC Super Bantamweight Title Eliminator between Rendall Munroe of Leicester and Victor Terrazas of Mexico.
Despite a gruelling journey to get to the UK yesterday – Terrazas arrived early for the press conference and looked calm and relaxed as he waited.
Scheduled to fly over here ten days before the fight, Terrazas was caught up in the chaos caused by the Icelandic Volcanic Ash Cloud which had descended over Europe.
A flight to Madrid followed by car travel to the UK was organised by Maloney to make sure the fight went ahead.
Munroe arrived alongside manager Mike Shinfield and trainer Jason Shinfield. ‘Boxing Binman’ Munroe wore a bright yellow t-shirt bearing a cartoon picture depicting himself with the bins.
As you’d expect from these two men – there was no verbal battle and the press conference went smoothly.
