This weekend in the UK, sees the next installment of Prizefighter – with the Welterweights taking centre stage at the ‘home’ of British Boxing – The York Hall, Bethnal Green.
The Eddie Hearn – Matchroom Boxing Promoted eight-man tournament will also play host to three contests featuring John Ryder v Jez Wilson, Ricky Boylan v Krzysztof Szot and Wadi Camacho v Toni Visic.
At The Wytheshawe Forum, Steve Wood of VIP Boxing promotes a show which headlines King Davidsons’ defence of the WBO International Light-Middleweight Title against Bradley Pryce of Newbridge, Wales.
Nigerian-born Davidson (living in Southampton) won the Title in June 2012 and defends it for the fourth time on Saturday.
Also on the show, Jimmy Kelly Jnr of Wythenshawe, is looking to add another win to his record of nine wins (4 by KO) when he faces Max Maxwell of Birmingham in a Light-Middleweight Contest.
And at the Forum, Bath, Errol Johnson promotes a show which headlines the BBBofC English Middleweight Title defence between the Champion – Danny Butler of Bristol and Martin Concepcion of Leicester.
But across Europe, at the Stadthalle, Rostock, Germany – Enzo Maccarinelli of Swansea, Wales, faces Juergen Braehmer for the WBA World Light-Heavyweight Title.
Braehmer of Schwerin, Germany, will be defending the Title for the first time since his win against Marcus Oliveira in December.
Welshman Maccarinelli is back on a winning streak since his second round defeat to Ovill McKenzie in November 2012 (which he later redeemed with an eleventh round stoppage of McKenzie in August last year).
Liam Williams of Clydach Vale, Wales, is also on the bill in Germany and faces Yuri Pompilio of Spain in a Light-Middleweight contest.
