There were two good shows north of the border last night and we’ll start off in boxing mad Montreal at The Casino.
Undefeated welterweight Antonin Decarie, 22-0 (6), kept on track for a world title challenge as the 26 year old pulled off a letter perfect performance against opponent Victor Hugo Castro, 29-6 (12).
After 12 rounds, Decarie won all three cards by a score of 120-108 and retained his WBO NABO title for the third time.
On the undercard, former middleweight world title challenger Sebastien Demers, 28-2 (10), won his third bout in a row by outpointing Alfredo Contreras, 10-5-1 (4), over eight rounds at super middle.
Local light welter prospect Dierry Jean, 16-0 (10), won an eight rounder against Adrian Navarrete, 17-7-1 (13).
The other show Saturday saw featherweight Jeannine Garside, 8-3-1 (3), snap a three fight losing streak to outpoint Dominga Olivio, 7-5-1 (0), over ten rounds to win the WBC International Female title at Cowichan Arena in Duncan, BC.
