I assume most Americans have heard this already but for those that haven't he's the governor of South Carolina, he just picks up and leaves all of a sudden, parts of his staff don't even know where he is, he or some of his staff (?) say he's gone to hike the Appalachian Trail but he shows up five days later at the Atlanta airport coming off a plane from Argentina. He's asked why, later in the day he admits at a press conference that he's been cheating on his wife with an Argentinian woman.

I don't know how he thought he would get away with this. I mean its one thing to cheat on your wife, its another thing to leave the country, be totally unavailable for those trying to get in touch with him, his staff was even looking for him, LOL. He's the governor of a major state.

He also voted to impeach Clinton

And for more LOLS the state newspaper were able to get copies of some emails he sent to his Argentinian lover, this one is gangster

Its funny the different attitudes to cheating there are around the world.

In America and in the UK if an MP, Senator or President, Primer Minister etc is caught cheating its a scandal and their party becomes synonymous with sleaze.

Meanwhile in Italy Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi sleeps with prostitutes, attends birthday parties of 18 year old girls, chats up teen models, colludes with the mafia, bribes judges, has a history of tax fraud etc and the people over there love him, Italian men just him as living the dream.

Yeah I agree. The thing I think is worse than cheating here is that he disappeared for five days, here's a guy who's been talked about as possible President, VP material and he goes off to Argentina for five days to cry and nobody knows where he is.

The US is kind of funny that way when it comes to publc officials having affairs. With all due respect to my southern friends and neighbors, this sort of thing does not look good on you. In Canada I don't think anyone would really give a damn. Something like lewinsky-gate could never happen here.
