  • Las Vegas Dream Of Anthony Ogogo Realized On Mayweather vs. Maidana

    Great Britain’s unbeaten Middleweight star and 2012 Olympic medallist, Anthony Ogogo, will make his debut in the fight capital of the world, Las Vegas, on Saturday, May 3 when he faces an opponent to be named on the non-televised undercard of the Showtime PPV mega-event “The Moment: Mayweather vs. Maidana” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

    “It’s an honor for me to be on the show and I can’t wait for May 3rd,” said Ogogo, “I’ve had a great training camp and hope to be in the best shape of my career for this fight. Some British fighters never get the chance to fight in Las Vegas and to do so in my sixth fight is a real achievement and will be a fantastic moment for me.” (more…)

  • BoxNation Has Agreed An Exclusive Output Deal With Top Rank

    BoxNation has agreed an exclusive output deal with leading boxing promoters Top Rank – which will see the channel continue to air the world’s best fights.

    ‘The Channel of Champions’ is living up to its’ name after reaching an agreement with the American promoters to show all events which are available to the UK, live and exclusive on the undisputed home of big time boxing.

    The agreement will start next month when BoxNation airs Mexican superstar Juan Manuel Marquez’s battle with the skilled Mike Alvarado on May 17th, before Filipino hotshot Nonito Donaire moves up to Featherweight to challenge Simpiwe Vetyeka for his WBA Super World title on May 31st. (more…)

  • Escalante Retains IBA Belt Against Ruiz At Cache Creek Casino

    Last night at the Cache Creek Casino in Brooks, CA, Bruno “The Aloha Kid” Escalante (13-1-1, 6 KOs) successfully defended his IBA Super-Flyweight title with a unanimous decision victory against a game Victor Ruiz (12-3, 9 KOs).

    In the early action, Ruiz pressed the action and won a few rounds before Escalante got into his groove. Escalante made the proper adjustments in the middle rounds and used superior boxing skills and defense to confuse Ruiz as he took the lead going into the final two frames.

    Ruiz tried to make a final push but Escalante dug deep and finished strong. Escalante hurt his hand in round two and fought with his right hand for most of the fight. Scorecards read 98-92, 97-93, and 96-94 all in favor for Escalante. (more…)

    On April 12, 2014, two former foes of WBC heavyweight champion “In Recess” Vitali Klitschko square off at the Telekom Dome in Bonn, Germany, when local hero and WBC #6 rated Manuel Charr faces Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson on a show promoted by Charr’s Diamond Boy Promotion.
