  • Clayton Stops Madani In France, Goodwin Blows Up In UK

    Veteran Brazilian danger-man Anderson Clayton is the new World Boxing Federation Super Welterweight Champion after dethroning local hero Sebastien “Coco” Madani by second round technical knockout in Rumilly, France on Saturday night, April 27.

    The visitor from Sao Paolo stormed out at the first bell and put pressure on Madani, and clearly surprised the champion with his aggression. One of the first punches that connected on the Frenchman quickly made his right eye swell, and by the end of the round it was almost closed. (more…)

  • Ireland vs. France In Dublin, Cork Tickets Now On Sale

    Tickets for the May 3rd and May 5th Ireland v France Elite internationals in Cork and Dublin are now on sale.

    Tickets for the Cork match, which are priced at €30 for adults and €15 for U/16s, can be purchased at the Rochestown Park Hotel, Cotters Printers, Macroom, Rylane Post Office, Rylane Boxing Club, Dan Donovans and Co, Ballyshonin Berrings, and from John Wiseman, Secretary of the Cork County Board.   • Fox Stays Unbeaten With Oklahoma Win Over Collins

    Boxing 360 promoted prospect Alantez Fox remains undefeated after pitching a shutout against Keith Collins on a card held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Tulsa, Oklahoma this past Thursday.

    Fox (11-0-1, 4KOs) was originally slated to face Djolevi Ballogou on April 20th, but after some unforeseen issues that prevented Ballogou from competing Boxing360 quickly stepped in and salvaged the effort Fox put forth preparing for his initial date, delaying his appearance by a mere 5 days.   • Mayweather, Guerrero Talk About Upcoming WBC Title Clash

    Thank you very much. May Day is right around the corner. Obviously, you all know, Floyd Mayweather versus Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, which will be a 12 round fight for Mayweather’s WBC Welterweight World Championship, and the vacant Ring Magazine Welterweight World Championship.

    We have a tremendous, tremendous lineup as we told everyone. From top to bottom, it’s really, really solid; exciting. The co-main event features Daniel Ponce de Leon versus Abner Mares. That will be a 12-rounder for Ponce de Leon’s WBC Featherweight world title. And also, after taking a nice little break after fighting five times last year, he’s back, the exciting, powerful machine, Leo Santa Cruz versus Alexander Munoz.     Both undefeated Unified Super Lightweight World Champion Danny “Swift” Garcia and former Two-Division World Champion Zab Judah weighed in separately Friday, and made the weight.

  • Ireland To Host 2013 European Schoolboy Championship

    The Irish Amateur Boxing Association (IABA) will host the 2013 European Schoolboy Championship.

    IABA C.E.O. Don Stewart today (April 24th) confirmed that the prestigious tournament would be held in Ireland between July 28th and August 4th.

  • Bualuang Keeps WBC Asia Crown In Thailand Firefight

    Bualuang Onesongchaigym (11-0,4KOs) successfully kept his WBC Asia featherweight title as he won a close but unanimous decision over Rodynie Rafol (10-4-2,4 KOs) on Wednesday at Municipality of Bungnamtao, in Lomsak, Petchaboon, Thailand.

    This was a close affair with the Thai fighter aggressively stalking his foe and gaining the scores at the first six rounds. The show from round eight belonged to the Filipino who displayed an effective counter-attack tactic plus the uncut champion was deducted a point from an accidental headclash in round ten. (more…)

  • “The Hitman” Celebrates New-found Worldwide Promoter Status

    Ricky Hatton has jetted around the world in recent weeks, proving he is now a worldwide promoter.

    The former two weight world champion has gained stamps in his passport in four continents, but he says all the travelling has been worthwhile.

    Last summer Hatton Promotions lost its contract with Sky Sports and while this may have stopped some promoters from staging shows, it has merely spurred Hatton on. (more…)
