  • Golden Boy Extends Fox Multi-Media Rights Deal

    Fox Sports and Golden Boy Promotions, founded by 10-time World Champion Oscar De La Hoya, have reached a multi-media rights extension to televise exciting live boxing in the United States and internationally.

    The new multi-year agreement keeps Golden Boy Promotions’ bouts with Fox Sports for years to come, and helps establish a new Monday night boxing franchise on Fox Sports 1 (FS1), Fox Sports’ new, national multi-sport cable channel launching on Aug. 17.   • Santana Faces Late Replacement Opponent Mamadjonov In Vegas

    Undefeated lightweight Angelo “La Cobra” Santana (14-0, 11 KOs), from Miami, Fla., will now face Bahodir Mamadjonov (12-1, 8 KOs), from Uzbekistan now fighting out of Houston, on Friday at Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Las Vegas after his originally scheduled opponent, Carlos Cardenas, bowed out late last week owing to a shoulder injury.

    Undefeated super lightweight prospect Amir “Young Master” Imam (8-0, 7 KOs), from Albany, N.Y., will meet Jeremy “Hollywood” Bryan (16-2, 7 KOs), from Paterson, N.J., in the co-feature. (more…)

  • Irish Prospect Burnett Gets Liverpool Pro Debut May 24

    Irish sensation Ryan Burnett will make his eagerly anticipated professional debut next month.
    The 20-year-old from Belfast will box on a show held in association with Steve Wood’s VIP Promotions at the Olympia in Liverpool, on May 24.

    Burnett, who will fight at bantamweight, should have made his pro berth last year, but queries on his medical led to more than 12 months of inactivity. (more…)

  • Cunningham Holds Philly Media Workout For Fury Clash

    Steve “USS” Cunningham held an open media workout at the Rock Ministries Gym in Philadelphia. With a little more than two weeks remaining until the fight, Cunningham, 25-2, 12 KOs, appeared confident, conditioned, and ready to fight Irish import Tyson Fury, 20-0, 14 KOs, a 6′ 9″ rising star of the heavyweight division.

    Cunningham went through a light workout for the press before speaking about the upcoming nationally televised fight at The Theater at Madison Square Garden scheduled for Saturday afternoon, April 20th. The Fury – Cunningham battle will be the main event of the 4PM ET broadcast on NBC. (more…)

  • Nugaev, Tolmajyan Win On ESPN2 Friday Night Fights Show

    Gary Shaw Productions wrapped up its lightweight featured card on ESPN 2 Friday Night Fights earlier this evening and it ultimately produced a couple of winners that could be well on their way to making an impact in the lightweight division.

    Last night Puerto Rican prospect, Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle (17-1, 12KO’s) scored a solid win by TKO in the fifth round over southpaw puncher, Andre Wilson (13-6-1, 11KO’s) in a scheduled featherweight eight-round bout held at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City.
