Alycia Baumgardner retained her undisputed super featherweight championship by defeating Christina Linardatou and rematching her rivalry with the Greek fighter. The American won a unanimous decision Saturday night at the Masonic Temple in Detroit to remain the reigning champion of the division.Â
The judges’ scorecards were 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92 in a fight in which Baumgardner fought her heart out and earned an important victory for her career.
The World Boxing Association (WBA), WBC, WBO and IBF champion not only defended her titles but redeemed herself by defeating the only opponent she had lost to in her professional career.Â
Linardatou had defeated Baumgardner in 2018 by split decision and tried to repeat history but this time it was not enough for her to get the victory. However, the Dominican Republic-born fighter, who also holds Greek nationality, planted a tough fight to the champion and both put on a great show in Detroit.Â
With the win, Baumgardner improved her record to 15 wins, 1 loss and 7 knockouts, while Linardatou now has 14 wins, 3 losses and 6 knockouts.

Houston’s own Unified Flyweight World Champion, Marlen Esparza (13-1 1KO) looks to add another Title to her arsenal of hardware as she confronts WBO World Champion, Gabriela Celeste, of Argentina, Sat. July 8th.
With a win over Celeste, Esparza would be just one World Title short of being the Undisputed Flyweight World Champion.
Esparza vs. Celeste is a 10-Round Flyweight World Championship bout for the WBC, WBA, WBC, and Ring World Titles. The bout is scheduled to be on the undercard of Eimantas Stanionis vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr, July 8th, 2023, in San Antonio, TX, at AT&T Center. The event will be streamed worldwide on DAZN starting at 7pm CT/ 5pm PT/ 8pm ET.

Fernando Martinez’s father had one last wish before he passed away in 2016; for his son to become a world champion. Six years later on October 8, 2022, Fernando Martinez fulfilled his father’s wishes by becoming the new IBF Bantamweight Champion when he defeated Jerwin Ancajas by UD.
Martinez went to defend his title in an immediate rematch, defeating Ancajas again by UD.
Martinez returns to the ring on Saturday, June 24, to face Jade Bornea in a Super flyweight world champion showdown on @SHOSports.
