Re: No one else even a tiny bit suspicious about Hopkins?
Frankly, after all we've seen, can't we say that practically every boxer takes PED's, unless they are committed to year-round, random, blood and urine testing? I didn't always have that opinion, but now, I can't help but think that unless someone is transparent with testing, it is suspicious.
Re: No one else even a tiny bit suspicious about Hopkins?
The only guy I'mk not suspicious about is Donaire. Hopkins could be taking EPO, which increases the amount of oxygen carried by the blood and so massively boosts stamina. All the cyclists take it. It's undetectable one hour after injecting. He could also be taking |HGH which improves recovery time and helps with injuries. Also basically undetectable. There are other things as well. Even if he is taking stuff, and he probably is, he's still an amzing fighter and a freak of nature.

Gotta agree. People will say "INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY", but if you have even a smidge of knowledge of the PED culture, you'd know how insufficient drug testing has been.
And the more niave fans will say: "no I don't think he cheats, he seems like a nice guy".
Look at Lance Armstrong: he was a media darling his whole career. And he got away with it for 15 years or more, and only got caught because he pissed a bunch of people off and they dimed him out.
The sad fact is you really can't know for sure...
Re: No one else even a tiny bit suspicious about Hopkins?
Boxing has to be the hardest sport of all. Even in a less physical sport like football/soccer you would never see a 48 year old player in a world cup.
I will not believe any fighter is clean until they do voluntary random testing leading up to a fight. Why doesnt someone go out and do some renegade testing of hair? Wouldnt be too hard to nab a hair from a brush or a pube from a shower;D

Like I said, look at James Toney!
Paying attention to his fights. Every round where he's very active it's usually followed by an inactive round. He gasses and than rests up. Pascal and Cloud let him get away with it. Dawson wouldn't
Re: No one else even a tiny bit suspicious about Hopkins?
I am not a Hopkins fan but why don't we wait until the tests after a fight come in. In the meantime consider that Hopkins plays mind games and gets under your skin. He did prison time and that is one of the things you need to survive and quite frankly he seems to do that to everyone look at who he associates with at Golden Boy, do you think they are bosom buddies? Hopkins is a master of psyche and the next opponent should develope a hearing problem at those meetings. Some of you out there hating certain announcers turned me on to this way of thinking, turn off the volume but remember the world or the opponent is still out there, you just don't hear all those mouths.
Re: No one else even a tiny bit suspicious about Hopkins?
He's so much smarter than Cloud he won just the way we thought he would, if Hopkins were on PEDs he would be even more dominant

Haha! Yeah right!
You lot think by anyone taking peformance enhancing drugs will instantly turn them in to superman. No. Hopkins is skillfull but he is fucking 48! Even with drugs he's not going to turn in to Mike Tyson!
To me, whatever he is taking is allowing him to work harder now than he did 8 years ago. You dont start training harder at 48, after that many middleweight defences...

According to compubox:-
Hopkins v Trinidad 653 punches thrown in 2001
Hopkins v Winky 640 punches thrown in 2007
Hopkins v Calzaghe 468 punches thrown in 2008
Hopkins v Pavlik 540 punches thrown in 2008
Hopkins v Dawson 2 punches thrown 400 in 2012
Hopkins v Cloud 417 punches thrown in 2013
What was your point?

Well considering our testosterone levels start to diminish naturally in our early 30s (which is why if you look back at the greats of yesterday, they were all shit by the time they were 35-40 with few exceptions), if Bhop hasn't been using hormone replacement therapy or PED's, he needs to be brought to the Smithsonian and studied thoroughly.

I think it's more a case of Hopkins living a very clean life, starting late, and looking good against mediocre fighters. Hopkins looked his age against Calzaghe or Dawson, and Ward would butcher him, but against the lethargic also-rans at light heavy he can still look like a spring chick.

Hopkins vs Taylor, a fighter his own size at middleweight he threw 371. He throws less against fighters his own size but you cannot deny that from throwing 371 in 2005 when he was already 40 to throwing 400 against Dawson and 417 against Cloud 8 years later is not in he slightest suspicious?
Re: No one else even a tiny bit suspicious about Hopkins?
I'm a little suspicious but I'm not going to be all butt hurt about my guy Cloud getting beat. Hopkins can be on something and still get beaten, look at Wlad vs Wach. Wach was on PEDs and lost every single round.

Taylor was an outstanding athlete, with quick hands, quick feet, and good lateral movement. Nobody throws a lot of punches against a guy like that. It's like asking why Pacquiao's punch output drops when he fights Marquez.
