Frankly, after all we've seen, can't we say that practically every boxer takes PED's, unless they are committed to year-round, random, blood and urine testing? I didn't always have that opinion, but now, I can't help but think that unless someone is transparent with testing, it is suspicious.

The only guy I'mk not suspicious about is Donaire. Hopkins could be taking EPO, which increases the amount of oxygen carried by the blood and so massively boosts stamina. All the cyclists take it. It's undetectable one hour after injecting. He could also be taking |HGH which improves recovery time and helps with injuries. Also basically undetectable. There are other things as well. Even if he is taking stuff, and he probably is, he's still an amzing fighter and a freak of nature.

Would high altitute training be comparable to Blood doping or the results won't even come close? As for HGH well I'm not sure. I'll just say this, like you the only boxer I know isn't juicing is Donaire and perhaphs rigo (for the simple fact he was so dominant in olympics for a long time that I highly doubt he'd start juicing now for no reason.)

If high altitude training was the same as PEDs the world's elite athletes would be training year-round in places like Mexico and Kenya. Instead they're all taking PEDs. Look at Pistorius; lots of high altitude places to train in South Africa and he's ot a bottle of synthetic testosterone in his bedroom. And he's never failed a drug test in his life even with year-round random testing.

It wouldn't surprise me - I think PED use (and I mean stuff like EPO, blood boosting, gene therapy, not just old fashioned injections) are rife in many sports.

If you can get such institutionalised doping in something like cycling or weighlifting, where they have very strict testing, just think what could be out there in siomething as unregulated as boxing or MMA

I also have dark suspicions about Novak Djokovic (allegedly)

Hopkins fights effectively without fighting aggressively, he feigns punches without throwing punches, he blocks and parries punches, he fights in spurts, he has ring craft that bewilders these young fit athletic fighters who should beat him. He has amazing ring skills.

Gotta agree. People will say "INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY", but if you have even a smidge of knowledge of the PED culture, you'd know how insufficient drug testing has been.

And the more niave fans will say: "no I don't think he cheats, he seems like a nice guy".
Look at Lance Armstrong: he was a media darling his whole career. And he got away with it for 15 years or more, and only got caught because he pissed a bunch of people off and they dimed him out.

The sad fact is you really can't know for sure...

Boxing has to be the hardest sport of all. Even in a less physical sport like football/soccer you would never see a 48 year old player in a world cup.

I will not believe any fighter is clean until they do voluntary random testing leading up to a fight. Why doesnt someone go out and do some renegade testing of hair? Wouldnt be too hard to nab a hair from a brush or a pube from a shower
