Hatton did 850,000 with Mayweather. Pacquiao hasn't done more than 400,000 without ODLH. I don't understand how he feels he deserves 50-50. If I were Hatton, I wouldn't take the fight unless it's 50-50 just on principle.
he just became boxings biggest draw after his one sided demolition of de lahoya. 60-40 is justifiable

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
50 -50 is the only way and Hattons Lawyer is threatening to sue if Pacs people drag there feet on this
Ricky Hatton threatens Manny Pacquiao with legal action - Telegraph
I don't think for a second that the fighters are at fault here ...more a case of the people handling them keeping their superior marketing status in tact and being able to lay claim to being "The top earner"
Greed is playing a factor in this too.;)

Blimey.. Castillo got beat worse on the negotiation table than the ring.

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
ask a vegas casino/restaurant owner which fighter is not only the biggest draw out of the 2 but in the world and they`ll tell you its ricky.
Anyone but anyone who`s flown over to the states to watch hatton whether it be against castillo, floyd or paulie(which i went to) will tell you just how much money you get through and how the nevada economy gets a welcome pump of british money every time ricky and his army of fans swarm on the area.
Add that to the hundreds of thousands of PPV sales back home at 15 quid a pop (30 US dollars), hatton merchandise etc and i think you`ll find ricky is more than deserving of 50%.

First off it's not the fighters that do the negotiating, it is their represenatives. The fights either accept the deal or don't.
As for if he deserves a 60/40 split, every boxer wants to earn as much as he can. In the history of boxing you will not find another boxer with as many supporters as Pacquiao. Hatton, even with his enormous popularity, could not even come close to Pacquiao. When Pacquiao fights the entire Philippines stops to watch and that doesn't include the people around the world. There is no way to gauge how much support Pacquiao has right now but certainly there is alot more PPV in the US than there is for Hatton.
As for greed? you are an absolute idoit to say that about Pacquiao.
You might say that about Pacquiao's Lawyer is greedy because it's the defination of a Lawyer.
So lets look at it if Hatton were to fight who else? What kind of payday would we be looking at? PBF; Forget it! that fight was already made. Sure a lot of people would watch it but it's not the block buster Pacquiao/ Hatton is. If this not made then the bigger fight is MP/PBF. IMO - If Hatton's reps were smart, he'd go back to the table and drop a percent or two. Hatton can make money fighting a home but no where near what he can make Hatton/Pacquiao 60/40 or 55/45.

Exactly, I'm guessing these millions of Filipinos back home aren't bringing any PPV money to the table. They watch it for free no?
As it happens though I just can't decided whether Pac deserves the 60%. From a personal point of view I couldn't care less what the split is, I just want the fight made.
The thing is Arum said 50-50 is fair and so did Roach. That's both his trainer and promoter who agree Pac doesn't deserve the bigger split. Somebody somewhere is whispering into Pac's ear or trying to squeeze more money for themselves, I just hope they agree soon and get this fight made

Yes, and No.
Yes, there is a free telecast on national TV. That telecast is dragged on for almost a whole day affair. It is riddled of commercials/advertisements with impunity. Pretty much, the main fight is over and done with before it hits the small screen. This serves the bulk of his fans.
There too, is a pay for live transmission fed on movie theatres, for about $10. And then lastly, the regular PPV, carried by Solar sports (?) is about $20. Of course there are bars, and restaurants that would likewise get on with the thing for a small cover price.

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
At the end of the day, credible arguments can be made on both sides about who deserves the greater share of the purse. 60-40 with the winner taking the bigger share of the purse seems like the best decision to me. I think all fights should come with with a bonus for the winner of the fight.
140 isn't the division that it used to be. Hatton will struggle to find a fight with a third as much limelight as this fight will get. The only one I could think of is Hatton against Witter and 1)Hatton isn't going to fight Witter and 2) that fight would only be as big of a draw as a Hatton vs. Pac fight in the UK. In the States average fight fan probably doesn't even know who Witter is. And throw in the other names at 140 like Bradley, Holt, Ngoudjo and you won't find very much anticipation among your average boxing fan for a fight against Hatton. Pac has alot more options. Now if Hatton decided to move up to 147 than were talking a whole new ballgame.

we all know that. but come on. there are still a lot of people here who doesnt think of pac as a ppv draw. thats how people are. we all know pac is the bigger draw here base on what he has accomplished this past year. 3 fights in one year. 2 for the belt, one for recognition. everybody doubted him yet he accomplished what we had to do. if anything, arum is the one who gets the blame for this mess. regardless of what happens, promoters get paid. the dont have to get punched in the head to earn their living. what do they care????

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a event Share Against Hatton?
I think 60-40 Pac is about right to be honest Pac is now the guy everyone is talking about, the guy who just made Dela Hoya the darling of HBO look like an old man, hes the hot ticket, Hatton on the other hand just brings the British PPV, i mean he does make the fight much more appealing and potentially is the biggest PPV event in volving Pac other than Mayweather, so Hatton does bring something, but Hatton v Lazcano wasnt even deemed a big enough fight to be aired free on HBO, I think Hatton has done very very well getting 50/50, but they are going to make huge amounts and it makes sense for Pac to take 50/50 rather than ask for 60-40 and the fight falling through which like i said i think he dererves as he will make loads more than he would with any other figth bar Mayweather.

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
I have no opinion on this, because all I want is for this fight to happen. Like water seeking its level, I believe, the fight purse would do so naturally. As pointed out both camps have valid claims as to their trenched positions. No one will give an inch, as it is still quite a long ways till fight time. Hype can likewise be playing a factor here, ensuring a lingering reminder that a mega fight is on the calendar for May 2nd. It keeps us all buzzing about, haven't we?
The Pacquiao camp countered a February deadline for the 60/40 split favoring their group, to the deadline set Friday (?) by Hatton’s for the 50/50.
The PacMan is dead set to go in a different direction if and when their proposed split, or an agreeable one at that, is not met. Who needs who? Who want it more? I remember everybody and anybody wanting to fight Pacquiao. Manny’s name have been called so many times, confusion had set. It seems likely that they’ve somehow mistook it for PBF’s, and miss-spelled it as Money Pacquiao! LOL! ;) :) ;D

I didnt know that, but I can see Ricky Making slightly more only because Castillo was not a big draw by then and hadnt looked great in his previous bout. Hatton also had a much larger fanbase. Pac-Hatton thats not the case. Both bring an equal amount to the table. Plus, I assume its for Rickys titles. The champion should never make less than the chalenger, and the last time I checked Mannys last title was at lightweight.

If Pac wants 60% he should put on a championship stake, the winner walks away with 60% the loser 40%

Without DLH fight, Pac PPV tops 400K with the JMM fight. Now that he beat DLH in spectacular Fashion, his numbers will grow up exponentially.
What was Hatton's PPV #s? 850K over PBF? But this happens after PBF beat DLH. So you Credit PBF's beating DLH for that. Why do you think Hatton's fight after that is not PPV? Coz it won't sell.

-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
Maybe it can be viewed that a 50/50 split is a bit proud of a claim from the Hatton camp. Flexibility is the order of the day, but definitely it seems, only the Pacquiao's camp is willing to do so at this point in time. A noteworthy concession coming from the Pound for Pound King! wouldn't you say?
Write ups that can somehow give a third party perspective to this.

tell you what would make this simple, winner gets 60%, 40% to the looser...
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
Maybe Arum should get off his ass and get a counter offer 55/45. Else let Hatton have 60/40 UK PPV and Pacquiao 60/40 US PPV or go 100% UK Hatton and 100% US Pacquiao.
I think there is more negotiating left here, so I'm getting off this roller coaster cause I just want to see the fight.

He is the linear champion, the man who beat the man and the true Champion at 140lbs.
It has nothing to do with belts, Hatton isd the actual champion at 140.
Oscar wasn't the champion, or a contender at any weight.

It would be nice for you to let everybody know as to why. It will make his views biased if so! Then I wouldn't wanna read up on him if that is the case.
Calling the guy the female reproductive tract, is not convincing enough as an exhibit A! Please feel free to reinforce you claim with facts! Likewise a cleaned up argument, is a lot clearer to understand. Be advised, that keeping this post as wholesome as possible, is within you!

Pacquaio beat a version of De la Hoya.
A faded, weight drained, decade past prime De la Hoya.
So although it is imprssive to rise from Superfeatherweight and beat a Welter in one year, he doesn't get the full merit.

Sorry for Hatton fans, and I am one,it really comes down to who has the heat in the US,and right now, thats Pac
60-40 is actually reasonable,he'll be selling 60% of the US buys on the PPV

I've never read ANYTHING by him that hasn't been negative towards the Brit.
I understand his style is clearly to be OBNOXIOUS.
He is fat. Fact.
Therefore a FAT CUNT from my perspective ;)

since ive started posting here every person pacquiao beats is faded, weight drained and past his prime. before the dela hoya fight everybody here thought pac was gonna get ktfo. now that he beat dela hoya, oscar is now faded and past his prime. so i guess those guys he beat get 50% of the credit because they were there to be hit and they had a hard time to catch pacquiao? give pac 50% credit coz he executed his game plan to win? seriously, besides mayweather, odlh who can hatton fight that his cut will be bigger than what he will get with pac at 40% split?

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
He deserves 52% to Hatton's 48% ;D
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
52%-48% in favor of Pac is fair although the difference in amount would be immaterial.
52% means respect for Pacquaio. 50/50 is unacceptable. That 2% difference is for pride which Pacquaio deserves. Hatton should know that coz he himself prided with the fact that Pac wants him despite the offers Pac is getting.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
50 50 split. HATTON IS THE BIGGER PPV DRAW.....many is the p4p. but that dont buy PPV......
