I'd actually like to see Khan systematically beat the shit out of Hatton for twelve rounds and humiliate him, he's only coming back for the money.
What a load a shite. You keep saying this and I keep reading it, but it's utter tosh. He doesnt need the money, what planet are you on ? Ricky has made well over £20 million and some. He still lives in house at the end of a very normal street. He isnt flash, all his cars have been given to him, and his Dad controls all his money. Ricky only gets paid a wage per fight, his Dad puts the rest away in a fund for Ricky and his son Campbell.
He is coming back because he always said he could never go out on a loss. It's a massive pride thing with Ricky, and in some ways, even though he is a mate, he can live a little in denial. He'll blame Cortez for the Mayweather loss and his training camp for the Pac loss, although some of that is justified, but he still wouldnt have won fully fit for me in either fight.
Ricky, as much as he's the lad next door, loves being Ricky Hatton. Without that adulation in the ring he feels a little lost, much like most fighters. Although most fighters have never had the unbelievable support he has.
Ricky has his own gym, his own promotional company, his own clothes brand, jeez he has the lot. Money isnt the reason he is coming back, and if you truly believe he is, you either know nothing about the lad, or your just being plain ignorant.
It doesn't matter how much he's got in the bank, there are people with billions who are hungrier than ever to earn more than they've got already. There's money to be made and he wants to make it rather than fannying around at Altringham leisure centre making a few thousand quid. I can agree with the bit about him feeling lost but the main reason he's coming back is all down to money. If you walked into his gym in Manchester tomorrow and told him he'd have to give every penny he made in the ring away from now on he'd take the gloves off and go straight down the pub.
Yes but those people havent had a highly successful boxing career and been sparked cold and laid flat out on their back in front of millions of people in their last fight. It's about pride, I know the lad like the back of my hand, and I've been saying ever since people and even himself said he would retire after that loss, that he'd be back. And now he is. And the primary driver has fuck all to do with money. Of course he isnt going to get his head punched in for nothing, and he isnt a charity case. To state that he'd hang up his gloves if he had to give all his earnings from any future fights is a ridiculous statement, of course he would. But you said he is only coming back for the money, which is rubbish. Jeez, he made £20 million plus for the Mayweather fight alone overall.
He isnt a Flash Harry, he doesnt spend a million pounds on a diamond encrusted Jacob and Co watch like Floyd, and he doesnt buy Siberian Tigers like Tyson. Ricky has more money than he could ever hope to spend in his lifetime. Money isnt the issue, your very, very wrong. But think what you like, but your wrong. For the record i don't actually think Hatton is shot. How could he be? He went from dominating Paulie to getting sparked by Pacquiao. It happens. And for hatton it happens everytime he fights somebody who's fast and throws skillfull combinations.
That's why i give him next to no chance.
Hatton hasn't hit a china-chin like Khan's in years. Possibly never a chin so fragile.
I don't see how anyone could think Hatton would not spark Khan if he caught him? There's really no doubt at all.
I'm not so sure. Hatton's not the sort of fighter to throw hooks to the head...well accurately at least and every time Khan has been in trouble it's been a hook that's caught him on the temple. Hatton will mainly throw straight right hands that fly over the target and Khan will counter him for fun.
I agree Khan's punch resistance is awful although at 135 that was more than likely because his bodyfat was at 1.5% ;D
Seriously though, any fighter has a punchers chances against Khan, but i still give Hatton next to no chance.
I see a methodical beatdown that falls somewhere in between what Floyd and Pacquiao did to Hatton.
Be a shame for him to go out like that. I just don't see him ever being able to deal with fast combinations.

I think you're underrating Hatton and overrating Khan. Hatton has won 45 fights. I'm pretty sure he landed punches to win those fights. Khan struggled with Gomez pressure, and although improved has beaten a decent defensive fighter in Kotelink. I'm pretty sure Kotelnik is not in Hatton's class.
I would make Khan slight favourite but the very fact Hatton can do him with a clip makes it intriguing. ;)

The fact Ricky has been partying like a rock-star since the Pac loss, and the fact that Freddie will have the perfect strategy for Amir to implement worries me alot.
That said, Ricky will more than likely get in the shape of his life for a fight with Amir, and he will need to. I know contrary to whatever Ricky says in the media about Amir, his true feelings are alot different :-X.I think Rick can make this a messy fight and bully Amir. If he lands the bodyshots and takes Khans legs away, closes the distance, which Hatton is brilliant at, I can see the left hook downstairs and up ending the argument.

I cant see Hatton's telegraphed left hook to the body ending it to be honest, his best shot is to bully and harrass him like you say. But Khan I think will hurt Ricky early.

Neither can I Skel, I was talking about doubling up the left hook, downstairs then upstairs. That could be the combination if he gets close enough and gets it off without being countered by Khans fast hands. Gomez had no problem landing it, and he was more shot than JFK. I've just phoned Ray Hatton, but he is in a meeting and will call me back. So I can give everyone some more information when I've had a chat.

Believe me i'm not. I just think Khan is a horrible style for Hatton to deal with. He's (RH) in awful condition and the fact there was talk of Hatton fighting at 147 makes me think he'll find 140 difficult. Add the fact that Roach already knows what Hatton's weaknesses are and that Khan has handpseed that Hatton can't deal with, for me makes it an easy fight to predict.
Like i've said over and over again, Hatton simply cannot deal with fast combination punchers. Never has and never will. I'd be surprised to see anything other than a KO win for Khan.
It's just my opinion, and like every Khan fight there as a chance his punch resistance will let him down, but for me, practically everything is stacked in Khan's favour here.

It's all about the money mate. It doesn't matter how much he already has, it's about how much he's leaving on the table and he'll quite happily get his head punched in again to get his hands on it. How he spends it is irrelevant, he may well want it for future kids or future divorces but he definitely wants it. You tell him he'd be fighting for pride only because he has to now give away every penny he makes in the ring and he'd go straight down the pub. And a Ricky Hatton press release is hardly an objective assessment, is it? He's been spectacular at crafting his man-of-the -people image but he's as hypocritical and full of it as anybody else in boxing.

Believe whatever you like pal. I spoke to Ray Hatton a couple of hours ago, and I mentioned this thread and the money issue. Ray said exactly what I have already said. No-one in his family wants Rick to fight, but Rick told his Dad that he never wants the lasting memory of him to be laid out cold. He also said tell you that Richard doesnt even have a clue what he is worth, and he never asks. Knowing Rick like I do I completely understand that. Ray also said that Rick had told him that when he signs the fight and goes back into training, if he feels he has lost the spark, or isnt anywhere near what he was then he will call the fight off before the tickets go on sale.
I know how bad the training camp was for the Manny fight, Floyd Snr killed him. Ray told me Shane Mosleys doctor examined Rick 3 weeks before the fight and diagnosed him with exhaustion, and recommended he didnt fight. It's a fact GBP wanted to pull this fight with 3 weeks to go.
Ray said the reason Rick is fighting again is because he doesnt want to be thinking for the next 5 years, what if I'd had a good camp. Hence the reason he is coming back. If he feels he is lacking in this training camp he will call it a day. If it goes well and he has a good performance, then he will fight again before the end of the year. Ray wouldnt discuss possible opponents yet, he said "Jimmy if I listed all the fighters that we have looked at or who have shown an interest we will still be on the phone in 3 hours time and I have to go and pick Richard and Matthew up as we are off to the Man City game".
So I have told you, Ray Hatton has told you, and Rick has stated his reasons, if not of that is good enough, then I give up.

Re: Khan leaves Warren, Vacates Title, Malignaggi next ....
I really really do not like amir khan. But when it comes to warren you fuck or be fucked. And Khan made sure he was the first to penetrate.
Warren could have the last laugh though. Mitchell vs Khan could be worth decent money in this country and i think Kev could do a job on khan especially if he get's him into the trenches.
It will be very interesting to see where amir's career goes from here.
I wouldn't like to see Khan fight Hatton. I HATE the thought of Amir beating a shot hatton and then walking round like he beat a god. Similar to what happened with the barrera fight. Although to see Ricky bow out demolishing Khan would be a very sweet way to call it a day.
Re: Khan leaves Warren, Vacates Title, Malignaggi next ....
Warren would allow Khan v Mitchell because it will earn him money and Mitchell could leave him too. Hatton was smart and got one over Warren by telling Khan that he would not fight him if he was still with Warren.
