I thought Hopkins edged it 114-113 but it was really close the whole way through with Hopkins taking majority of the early rounds and Calzaghe finishing the fight well.
The majority of people thought Calzaghe outworked Hopkins and deserved to win, i can't disagree with them to be honest, tough fight to score so i have no compliants with anyone on how they scored it.
I suppose all of those 127 punches from Hopkins were clean, effective earth shudderers, right?
And Hopkins defense was wonderful, unlike Calzaghe who deserves no credit whatsoever for making it so awkward for Hopkins to hit him (as my figures show - less than any other fighter Hopkins had fought in years).
And, of course, Hopkin's superior ring generalship was clear for everyone to see, apart from when Cazlaghe put him under so much pressure he resorted to begging the ref for breathers and trying to get the totally ineffective slapper disqualified.
To be honest - it's quite surprising Hopkins ever wasted his time challenging such an inferior opponent. Fact.
hahahahaha hey fenster i like your style, infact i'm thinking your maybe mr joe calzaghe himself...( if you are say hello to the old man, we'll finish that debate we start few years back in manchester with him)
dont take to much to heart about thses matters, its my view and theres your view and everyone elses.......i feel hopkins won a close fight....i was a calzaghe fan but later not so much....i am a fan of hopkins to......and many other fighters........i'l send you a drink or two mate its xmas always a pleasure to converse with the fenster
:vd:
What an incredibly dumb argument. That's like saying you cannot be an expert on WW1 history unless you have actually fought in the actual war. Of course actual experience would count, but if the combatant were an illiterate pleb with no ability to formulate a cogent argument, then surely that would place the academic who is able to interpret documents and evidence on a much higher pedestal.
As someone who follows boxing as closely as Fenster does, his opinion is as valid as anyone elses. And just as valid as Butterbeans too for that matter.
You are a silly, silly man.
I think compubox is defective, but it is doesn't just formulate numbers randomly. Calzaghe was clearly landing on Hopkins, but I question the total figures that compubox offers us, but I think Calzaghe clearly outlanded Hopkins by a fair margin and won a relatively close fight.
and yo fenster......enzo told me that every punch hopkins landed WAS LIKE A SLEDGEHAMMER....in fact hopkins hit joe so hard so so quick so many times that calzaghe thought he was surrounded hahaha....hopkins was so quick it broke all compubox gadjets, the poeple doing the counting passed out wet there bets and now get treatment everytime the see numbers hahahaha
merry xmas the present with calzaghe stuck on it is from me
I'm not taking anything to heart. I don't expect for a minute to change your mind, or anyones mind that saw Hopkins win, just countering why the majority saw Calzaghe win, that's all.
And my posts are the best. Fact.
hahahahaha Miles is clearly so wound up and agitated by his self imposed politics ban that he's not even reading posts properly and cannot detect even the most obvious of sarcasms.
Read it again Miles, I'm not mocking Fenster, I'm mocking the guy who said he knew more because he was a fighter :vd:
PS, some good political threads planned for later, the Obama revival, and mounting evidence of a nuclear arms pact between North Korea and Iran. They will wind you mightily, but sadly you cannot have an opinion until February. ;)
by the way in an earlier post i said it was a clear win for calzaghi
by that i didnt mean he won by miles, i know it was a close-ish fight
i just meant it was clear who the winner was
if you get me?
goto say you gents do take things very serious, all this attacking coz i said i'm a ex boxer......i've spoken to a person just to make sure its ok for me to let you guys in on something. a t.v channel in the uk was playing with the idea of adding the compubox biz, they tested by having two people sit near each other clocking the same fighter...they found there was at time big difference in the counts 40,50,60, 70 punch difference, that was punches landed... so they dropped the idea.......this was a few years back when the channel was showing quite a bit of action.
besides i have laughed about this fight with joe, when i said no way you landed nearly 250 even he smiled.
you boys seem to turn things into arguements, lighten up and have fun with it for crying out loud
ONO I EXPECT A FULL SPELL, GRAMMER and whatever check from you please SIR
