I got a scholarship set up by a bunch of liberals to send gifted kids from coal-mining/shipbuilding/unemployed families to university. My parents gave me £50 to go off to university which I later discovered was half of their life savings. I retired them to a nice house in a British community in sunny Spain some time ago now, so that £50 turned out to be money well spent. :)

Not in all cases has McCain taken sides with the party...immigration, taxes, etc....he's different than the base of the party which is good because it draw a difference between him and W and he needs that difference if he's going to do well.
