Do some research and you will see. There's differences but minor. Both supported bailing out the banks. Both support the same corporate influences. It's all about money. Don't believe the hype Obama is a good old boy. He's a member of the council on foreign relations.
Do some research?
Differences are minor?
No the differences are not minor, there are major differences on foreign policy, economic policy, social issues, everything.
I guess its cool to be apathetic about the whole thing, good for you, but this is just too fucking stupid to even argue about.

Does not matter who wins, it won't change a thing.

This is a serious change Kel. It will probably see a lot of changes within the US and a serious response from the world at large. I cannot wait to see how the ball starts rolling. And it is desperately needed.

How major? Afganistan or Iraq. Either way it's keep us at war.
How involved was Obama in fannie mae? Did he get tons of money from them? Duh? If you're "nominated" by the 2 party system you are a part of it. By the way the health care benefits he's promising are impossible. We are bankrupt. And worse yet we have the baby boomer retirement coming that crashes the stock market, bankrupts social security and medicare. Haven't heard that one addressed at all.
I'm not apethetic, i'm disgusted with so many stupid people in this country. We are so far gone and fools keep voting for one of the 2 idiots promoted by the media?????
We should have been replaying the boston tea party years ago. Just follow your new leader. He will change things?????
Keep being niave. Boxing judges are always fair. Wars are always for righteous causes, and politics aren't corrupt.
Re: ----- Obama Wins ------
What are you talking about, Obama made his campaign on not supporting the war and calling for a pullout.
The democrats in Congress at the time of the decision to go to war in Iraq were cowards politically, they still are, all politicians are, but they are the lesser of the two evils. I don't see how anyone can not see that, its nice to be ideologically pure and never compromise but that's for teenagers.
Do you really think that we would have gone to war in Iraq (not Afghanistan) if Al Gore had been president? If you do you're out to lunch.
And the idea that because Obama supported the bailout there is no difference between the two parties economically is again simpleminded. That is one issue, not the entire issue. If you think spend a shitload of money and lower taxes is a good plan, good for you.
I guess there's just a simple difference here, I don't see a point in just sitting back and whining because everything is not perfect, of course politics is corrupt, it is everywhere, but there are lesser evils. I was wrong in calling you cynical, you clearly are not cynical.
There's no point in arguing about this anymore, we are obviously of completely different minds.
Re: ----- Obama Wins ------
while i agree that some votes "don't count" Obama still won the popular vote.. It's unfair that in a state that is 51/49 that the 49% doesn't really count towards the person voted for.. but that's the system.. At least there was a clear cut winner..
Re: ----- Obama Wins ------
hurray for Osama.......
i mean Obama :p
Re: ----- Obama Wins ------
Im looking forward to the changes coming about, it shows forward thinking and being opened minded as a people..
McCain never had a shot ad the way things went was really indicative that the american people spoke loud and clear about who they saw fit to lead us forward

Your joking right? You know how our government works? You are aware the Democrats have the Senate majority and can pass bill instead of Bush vetoing.

They're short of the number they need to prevent a filibuster though, aren't they?
Re: ----- Obama Wins ------
Am I supposed to congratulate him or something? Mr. Obama will be picking up a lot of mess left by his predecessor. The economic situation looks real bad and nobody knows exactly where it is headed toward; the situation looks as cloudy as it can be. Make no mistake about it, folks, the US will be really feeling the effects the economic turmoil in the coming months.
...and did I hear him say he's gonna tax someone? jeez, that's bad because you don't do that in times of recession, but instead, you encourage the consumers and the producers (the business folks) to increase their activities, never discourage them with a tax during hard times...

I really hope this is a sign that the people of our country are starting to keep an open mind, at least a little. This is important for more than the usual political reasons.
We do but we don't. If his name was Jamal Jones and he was from Saginaw, MI with an associate's from a community college he would have gotten nowhere. But then again, the same would be true had he been white. Surface-judging is American as apple pie.
