Are you kidding? There's gotta be 20 bums out there that could've taken Tyson in his prime. Matter of fact... I'm waiting for Lyle to dredge up 20 more "no-names" that could've done the job. All they needed was a decent jab.... right Lyle?

    But he's not a Tyson hater. No-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o.
Hell... Tyson wasn't even fit to carry Wlad's jockstrap.

Did I say that? Did I come close to saying that? No I didn't so don't try and misrepresent what I've posted.

As for all a guy needing is a "decent jab" to beat Tyson, no that's only a part of it, but I won't bother telling you anything else because you wouldn't read my explination anyway because you're a habitual shit stirrer.....don't care about facts, don't care about reasoning and being rational, you just care about stirring shit up and frankly I'm quite tired of you.

Lighten up. I won't bother dredging up all the posts you've made discrediting Tyson and his career and his accomplishments because frankly it's too much work. I've seen how you get completely defensive about Wlad and any notion that Tyson might even have a chance against him. Then... when backed into a corner, you throw Tyson a bone and concede he might have a chance to beat Wlad if Wlad has one hand tied behind his back, is battling an intestinal bug, and Tyson can use the corner stool.

And spare me your temper tantrum.
I'm hardly the only guy on here you have regular scraps with.

You just don't like differing viewpoints, is all.

I've not discredited anything, I've simply got a different view than "The Mike Tyson that beat Spinks was unstoppable". I've said Tyson is great, it doesn't mean he's unbeatable. I've said there are flaws in the strategy Tyson used and I've shown that it plays out even with other fighters using that style.....but I guess none of that will get through to you.

I'm not the world's biggest Tyson fan, Lyle. You're barking up the wrong tree. I just cringe when I see you write that any number of mediocre heavyweights of the past years could've beaten a prime Mike Tyson. You're so defensive of Wlad... that sometimes that can carry to being dismissive of other great heavyweights of the past.

I'm defensive of Wlad because he too is a great fighter and people are slow to respect fighters that are still fighting. When people try to tell me that the bums from other eras would beat Wladimir #1 It's wrong and #2 it's disrespectful.

When I listed the boxers I thought could beat Tyson I was respectful and I was thoughtful. If people want to consider Ray Mercer a "bum" then fine, he certainly wasn't but whatever. Ray had a very inconsistent career but at one point in time do I think he had the skills & abilities to handle Mike Tyson? YES. Ray Mercer really pushed Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield, he had a chin, he had good fundamentals and he'd be around for 12 rounds vs Tyson who after about 5 rounds would start to show some wear because the pressure fighting style plus the power punching is taxing on stamina.

Well then its a shame Lewis is such a bitch because Mercer was signed up as a warm up opponent for Mike a few months before the Lewis fight. Mike wanted and needed someone that wasnt going to fall over in front of him and would give him rounds. Lewis was worried hed actually come to the fight prepared.

You didn't stop at Mercer, Lyle.

Just 9? I mean 9 guys to beat a "Prime Tyson" doesn't necessarily mean these guys are all Top 10 Heavyweights of All-Time, but here it goes: Ali, Foreman, Holyfield, Lewis, Louis, Vitali, Holmes, Mercer, Bowe, Frazier, and personally I think Ernie Terrell would do a number on old Mike too

So I have a couple questions #1 which do you disagree with ? #2 how is saying Tyson would lose to those guys disrespectful?

Bert Sugar said Wladimir Klitschko would lose to Primo Carnera...THAT is disrespectful

Erroneous...Buster Douglas was not a huge puncher but he outlasted Tyson and why Because he was bigger and made Tyson work for everything he got. I stand by my picks
When Tyson got to Tokyo to fight Douglas he was weakened by various medications to treat "several" STDs he was carrying, he hadn't trained for the fight and was thirty pounds overweight. King's people put him in the sauna for a week to try and get him looking relatively normal so he wouldn't look like a big fat bastard on fight night. He was ignoring his trainers and his corner was shambolic, they were using a condom filled with water because they didn't have an icepack. Etc etc.

If a remotely close to fit/prime Tyson had turned up the fight would have been over a lot faster than Holyfield-Douglas was.

If we're talking about a PRIME Tyson then we aren't worried about the Douglas fight is what I'm saying

If it's a prime Tyson, no offense to Tua but he's getting steam rolled inside of 4. Tua was a very hard pucher but Tyson was perhaps hitting harder plus he was faster, more dynamic and his 2-3-4 combos were just devastating. There is no way Tua could have better than "from slim to none" chances in that one.

Lyle.............. Bowe?? You know how you've slagged on Bowe (and I've been right behind you).
    THAT, Lyle.... is disrespectful.

    Ernie Terrell? C'mon, man.

And no disrespect to the great Smokin' Joe, but Frazier? Tyson murders even a prime Frazier inside of 5 rounds. Joe never got hit with anything like what Tyson would have to offer, at least not from Ali. And Foreman? Foreman was big and powerful... but his punches were slower and more telegraphed. Tyson would've landed a powerful combo on Joe's head faster than you could blink.

Again, I'm not the world's biggest Tyson fan..... but give the guy his just due.

Some say tyson had douglas down on the canvas for ten seconds anyway...wonder how that would have changed history.
Tyson was out of it by then anyway.
Just think what sort of fighter he would have been if cus was still alive.

Tyson needs a slap for wasting his talent on users, abusers and King.

Yes I know how I've slagged on Bowe, so you're saying there's no chance he can beat Tyson? I don't think that at all. I think Bowe could have had his spots vs Tyson and what it would boil down to is could Bowe take the punches....if he could he'd win by KO if not then he'd lose by KO.

Ernie Terrell was HUGE and he only got stopped 2 times in his career. 1 vs Cleveland Williams and 1 the last fight of his very long career. He was 6'6 and had an 82" reach, more of a boxer than a power puncher so he'd have to keep pumping those punches out and not get gunshy. He was also a guy who would try to be a bully in the ring.

Joe Frazier did take a few rounds to warm up, I admit that and Tyson did come out with both barrels blazing....but each round that passes Frazier gets stronger, Frazier builds up momentum and Tyson starts losing it.

Now George Foreman is where I draw the damn line...Mike Tyson didn't even want to fight 45 year old George Foreman what would he do with a younger version George Foreman was meaner and tougher and nastier than anything in the darkest depths of Tyson's nightmares and Big George would run roughshod over Tyson.
