prıme tyson 1985-88 smokes just about everyfuckıngbody. too young, too explosıve, too savage.
People resent putting Mike in an all time top ten greaest heavyweight list. Ok, as in "great" up to the point he beat Spinks he was phenomenal but hadnt had a "career" as yet.
He wiped out a division, unified, beat the linear champ and the former great. In that amazingly short space of time he could litterally have done nothing more. If his career had ended abruptly for whatever reason after the Spinks fight Mike would not only be in the top ten but hed be in top three along with or behind Ali and Louis with Marciano right behind him.
Ok the man didnt do great things after but you cant dismiss what he was because he chose to fuck his career up by having yes men and managers fuck him over. On acheivments maybe Tyson isnt in the top ten, thats down to opinion on how much credit you give him for destroying every viable opponent in a space of about 3 years, compared to other fighters of other eras that avoided certain other foes. If it were mythical match ups, then only a hamdfull of fighters would be favoured to hear the final bell let alone beat Mike. When he fought Douglas he wasnt even training but still managed to nigh on knock him out. If Mike had been as fit and not being babied to keep him happy by King, he would have walked through Douglas. Or at the very least, he would have still had something in the tank to finish him off after that knockdown.
Mercer? Mercer got beat by Holmes years after Tyson flattened him! Some people have to reach or scrape the bottom of the barrel to find a reason to downplay what Mike Tyson was. Back then when he beat Spinks, people were saying that Ali now has a contemporary. When Mike was first around and training right, he looked unbeatable, there is a deffinite visable decline starting with the Bruno fight as King and Givens were distracting him.
Really? I mean let's check what Ray had that could trouble Tyson. A good jab (check), a granite chin (check), good power (check), and he was not easily bullied. Now sure Ray had an inconsistent career but the Ray Mercer that demolished Tommy Morrison and the Ray Mercer that went toe to toe with Lennox Lewis WOULD beat Mike Tyson, I'm sorry but that's just the way I see it. Ray had everything to beat Tyson in his arsenal.
Sonny Liston could be added to the list as well, he handled Floyd Patterson REALLY easily, I'm sure Tyson would last longer, but how much longer is the question.
I didn't mention Wladimir not because I don't think he could beat Tyson on his night, I mean he obviously could (and Tyson could do the same to Wlad, I admit as much), but I did not want people thinking I'm just hating on Tyson. I'm not just hating, I like Mike Tyson he was very fun to watch fight, he's an intriguing fellow but I'm realistic about his greatness.
Rays power wasnt that great. Morrisons chin wasnt that great. Mercer would never have done what Tyson did to Holmes, he also couldnt hurt Lewis even though he landed a fair few shots, so he doesnt even hit as hard as Mikes old sparring partner![]()
the tyson that beat Spinks and Berbick and Holmes was unbeatable.
Are you kidding? There's gotta be 20 bums out there that could've taken Tyson in his prime. Matter of fact... I'm waiting for Lyle to dredge up 20 more "no-names" that could've done the job. All they needed was a decent jab.... right Lyle?
But he's not a Tyson hater. No-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o.
Hell... Tyson wasn't even fit to carry Wlad's jockstrap.

Its all Bullshit. When Mike wasnt being distracted by King and Givens he was on his way to matching the regard that Ali has. He was completely dominant and there was not one fighter around that stood any kind of chance with him because he excelled in so many aspects of boxing. He wasnt like Lewis or Holyfield or Wlad where people held their breath for when a big puncher landed on their chin (Holyfield was regarded as chinny back then).
People will not give him credit for the Holmes fight but I believe even that version of Holmes there isnt another fighter ever that could have done what Tyson did to him that night.
Yes.Are you for real?
Go ahead.I would have highlighted all the shit but itd take ages.
Tua had a bigger frame? He was even smaller than Tyson! Just fatter!
Both 5'10. Tysons prime weight was on average about 220, Tua's was about 230. The only fight in which tua was a fat lump in his prime was vs lews! What the hell he was thinking coming in at 245 in his biggest ever fight i dont know! Let's be real though, even that tua had lewis back peddling for 12 rounds, lewis walked through tyson with consumate ease! Tua doesn't look any smaller than tyson to me...
He didn't need a hug too.
I think these 2 proved that:As for Tyson not having as good a chin as Tua.....
See:
I stand by what i said.Mike had no stamina! For fuck sakes... Even when getting stopped by Holyfield when he wasnt the same fighter that train right in the eighties and after being out for 4 years he was still there swining hard in the 11th! Against Douglas when he was hardly training at all and getting dropped hy sparring partners he was still fighting hard in the 10th.
Yet he struggled against donovan ruddock and buster douglas, even bummy botha was outboxing him LOL.Tyson has an amazing combination of some of the very best attributes youd want in a fighter and this is against all the fighters in history. His speed, footwork, head movement, defence, chin, power and agression are all among the best ever.
Avoided fighter. That's clear...Tua was a fat lump that could cover up and throw left hooks and thats it. He never even wan a title and was never anything.
Even tua's not title winning expolits are on a par with the coke fuelled, dong king bums tyson rolled over to become linear champ!

Tua is only 5,9" and strip the fat off him and he wouldnt weigh a great deal over 210lb. When Tua turned pro he was 20 and only weighed 200lb, when Mike turned pro he was only 19 but weighed 214lb and was ripped! Yeah, Tua has the naturally bigger frame...Hes just a lazy fat lard arse.
He had 2 title shots against 2 champs, thats hardly being avoided. Both thse performances were shite. He didnt put the champs in any sort of danger or even win a round. Even the faded old Tyson wan a round against Lewis
He had his chances and blew them in boring fashion. He wasnt avoided, he just couldnt put a show on to become an attractive opponent to put on tv. Unless his opponent just stood in front of him, Tua had nothing.
Tyson has faced much bigger punchers than Tua has and world class fighters, rather than the roll call of fringe bums that Tua plodded along with. Tua would have done no better with the Holmes that Tyson faced than what Butterbean did with the ancient version
Thats because you dont know any better

tua wasnt good on hıs feet---tyson WAS. tyson got angles and punches from all dırtectıons. tua'!s arsenal was a sımple left hook and straıght rıoght.
