Dude was robbed at gunpoint earlier this year, I know laws are laws but it is not like he pulled a gun on anyone this time. I don't get this idea that Kirkland is trying to play a thug or anything like that. I think he was trying to obtain a gun to make sure he wouldn't be letting himself be robbed again. I don't really know if I agree that felons shouldn't be allowed to carry weapons either, I mean aren't they the people most likely to be shot? They should have to get a permit like anyone else but it is pretty much a fact that if they won't let you get one legally you will have to get one illegally in order to protect yourself.
Then avoid those areas where you have a chance of being robbed, If you live in a high crime area then don't carry valuables so if it does come up nyou don't lose things of worth.
I find it funny that I am in high crime areas everyday. Jamicia Queens, Queens Bridge, Williamsburg Brooklyn, Newburgh, Troy.
I have a permit and carry a .38 Snub and have pulled it out on someone once in 15 years and that was in a decent neighborhood and it on a guy who had his tool in his hand wacking it off in front of my wife and kids.
Yet Kirkland has one encounter after another
If your not hanging around the wrong crowd, acting the wrong way or doing the wrong things the situatons don't come up too often.
He has brought this all upon himself.
