As you can see, starting with about 35 seconds left, Bute cannot defend himself at all!! How long should it take a ref to stop the fight if it is clear that he cannot defend himself? Not 35 seconds. A lot of damage could be done to the fighter in that time.

At the 29 second mark, the ref makes a break that I did not think was necessary, and kind of extended it by keeping Andrade away a second time.

Also, isn't the ruling supposed to be, if it's clear that the ropes stop the fighter from going out of the ring, it should be considered a knock down? Just like in the Marquez/Vasquez fight. Look a the 16 second mark, Bute nearly hung himself at that point, and it looks like the ropes kept him in the ring to me. Okay, maybe this one I'm might be grasping a bit. What do you guys think?

This time, I really did blow poor Danny's ear drums out!! I started screaming so loud at that fuking ref, Danny had to yell at me to stop.
Well I definitely don't think the referee should have stopped the fight, Bute had won every round apart from the 5th and there was about 30 seconds to go when he started to get in serious trouble.

Believe me if he'd have just waved the fight off and not given Bute a chance to get up he'd have been crucified and rightly so imo.

It was a really difficult call imo, the ref didn't handle it well but it's becuase he's human not because the fight is fixed.

At the end of the day regarding the long count, if the ref has to take responsibility for being over zealous in wasting time making Andrade go back to his corner then Andrade has to take some responsibility in leaving the corner in the first place. He should have gone straight to the corner and not moved.

If you use the excuse that he was excited and emotional (and of course he would be) then you have to give the ref the same benefit.

Very disappointing for Andrade and I really think there should be a rematch but I definitely don't think the fight should have been stopped before the knockdown, and imo he just barely got up within the 10 seconds so should have been allowed to fight on, and by fight I mean wrestle Andrade to the ground and hold on for dear life for the final 4 seconds of fight time
