At Düsseldorf, Germany (Epix and EpixHD.com): Wladimir Klitschko vs. Jean-Marc Mormeck, 12 rounds, for Klitschko's Ring/WBO/IBF/WBA heavyweight title; Ola Afolabi vs. Valery Brudov, 12 rounds, for vacant WBO interim cruiserweight title
I did set my alarm and woke up but thought sod it & went back to sleep

You didn't miss much Missy, unless of course you're a big fan of Broner or Alexander, it wasn't worth getting up to watch.

I just watched this on You Tube and thought Maidana sucked. He was limited and kept allowing Alexander to smother him. Alexander has a horrible style. I don't think I will ever enjoy his fights. People criticise Bradley's style, but it's mainly Alexander who spoils.

The only reason I had any interest in the fight was to see how Maidana did, as it turned out the fight wasn't worth watching. If I hadn't started the fight thread, I would have just turned the TV off and went to bed after the 5th round.

I felt the same way. After about the 7th round it was pointless, Maidana was clearly going to lose, and even his puncher's chance had diminished.

He looked to have taken the fight half heartedly and gone in with a built in excuse of "Well 147 isn't my weight".

I thought Berto or Ortiz at welter would have eaten him alive, and most likely beaten Devon as well.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Agree completely. My view of Alexander has further dimmed with each successive fight. Absolutely horrendous to watch.

I've heard a few people make comparisons to B-Hop and Andre Ward but that's complete garbage. Being a little bit dirty and fighting hard on the inside is very different from continuously just holding until the referee calls a break. It's such a habit that he even did it when he had Maidana nearly out on his feet at the end. Punch (with loud grunting), punch (with loud grunting), [could have been a KO punch, but instead . . .], *clinch*, hold until broken.

Someone did a "compu-clinch" count and Alexander initiated a whopping 106 clinches during that fight.
