Nor does Floyd need him. Why risk what he hasn't risked so far at a weight where he'll be at a distinct disadvantage, especially given the fact that Canelo will step into the ring in the mid 170's? That he (Floyd) fought Cotto at 154? So what? 154 was never Miguel's best weight and even so Miguel managed to give Floyd a better fight than maybe Floyd himself was expecting.

I'm not a huge Floyd fan, but fair is fair. He's spent years creating his legacy.
    Let Canelo start his own.

Saul is creating his own legacy, everyone knows the only real challenge for Floyd is Canelo, Floyd beats everyone else and no one is interested in these other fights.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Sure did spend a lot of years cherry picking and creating that legacy such as avoiding Kostya and then Pacquiao (altough I think PAC and MAY both avoided each other). Did not fight Mosley till he was over the hill. Same applies to Cotto. Picked on smaller guys like Hatton and Marquez. But everyone get's all butthurt when he's not the one bullying and has to fight a bigger fighter at 154.

    Strange that.
The majority of floyds fights floyd has always been the smaller man in the ring against his opponents.

He is a welterweight no more no less.

Canelo is headed for a huge fall and trout was just the start.

Bottom line is guys, canelo has to accept whatever floyd wants or he could just have another rematch with a ryan rhodes type fighter to keep that massive padded undefeated record.

What the fuck you think he's trying to do? You start a legacy by going after the best. Which is exactly what Alvarez is trying to do.

Mayweather himself said he wanted to defend his WBA Junior Middleweight title after fighting Guerrero. In order to do that he needs to fight at 154. The WBA has already stated he was never stripped of the title and he's still there Super Champion.

Seems like he's willing to fight at 154 as long as he's not fighting Alvarez.

let Floyd fight Alexander and Canelo take on Lara, cause it's another May/Pac meaning it's not gonna happen

90% chance it will be one but he's the only top guy available for that time, seeing how Bradley faces Marquez in September, Pacquiao faces Rios in November, and Malignaggi is about to face Broner

Even more reason to face Alvarez

I'm not saying he shouldn't but if he's refusing to fight him at 154 and Canelo is refusing to come down, then I have no interest in a fight that wont happen, just like May/Pac, so both should just go on to the best available in their weight division without the drama
