Or both. I will say this. I think it is pretty much agreed that out of those opponents, Cotto and De La Hoya actually gave Mayweather the toughest fights. Both those fights were at 154. At least with Cotto, I think he outperformed what most people thought he was going to be able to do against Floyd. Then in his next fight, he was completely dominated by Austin Trout. Therefore, an argument can be made that Floyd has been less effective at 154.

This fight isn't at 154 though, it's at a catch weight of 152, and how the catch weight affects Canelo's shot is critical if you are considering betting on the fight.

So, I take it you don't really rate Canelo as a good win in comparison with Floyd's wins over Hatton, Mosley and De La Hoya? Would you rate it over Guerrero, Ortiz and Marquez? Or right in the mix there?

I didn't know this was at 152. It's pretty hypocritical of Floyd, who I think bashed Manny for making people come down to catch weights.

I for sure rank Hatton, DLH and Mosley victories (at the time he got them) over Canelo. But I'd rank Canelo over Cotto, Ortiz and Guerrero, who were three guys who I don't think anyone gave any real chance to.

Floyd and Pac where at completely different stages of their careers compared to Canelo. They were proven champions...on a whole different level than Alvarez is right now. Alvarez could have still picked up huge paydays without this fight and gotten more experience as well. He has not fought anyone remotely as good as Floyd and he is going to get badly exposed. Two excellent points here. Canelo is a bit green. I think that is one reason why Floyd wants to fight him now. Second point is the Trout fight. Canelo seemed uncomfortable. Scoring was ridiculous. If Canelo fights Floyd the way he fought Trout I think he will get schooled. I think Trout was big competition for Canelo and many of his weaknesses were shown. However, Trout completely schooled Cotto, literally, I had him pitching a shut out. For Canelo to come in and beat Trout, shows the level he is at.
