Can't agree with either if you. Yes Golovkin looked poor in parts, mainly in the 4th or 5th after being completely dominant. Stevens hit him with his best and he didn't budge. He does the subtle things so well that Ross doesn't understand. His footwork is one of the best I have ever seen. He cuts the ring of so well. Guys can't keep him off them. His jab is excellent and is a tool he has in reserve if he ever needs it. His work rate? What are u talking about. He doesn't waste punches. He uses them so effectively. Martinez is the only guy at Middleweight who could give GGG a challenging fight
Did you gentlemen watch a stream or was it on tv. I hope to be able to watch a replay sometime soon
Read Andy Lee wants GGG next. I'd prefer to see him fight Sturm.
I've taken the opposite road on GGG as most. Three years ago I thought he was going to be a phenomenon. Now that he's a phenomenon I think less of him. He's damn good don't get me wrong but he isn't what I thought he'd be. He still tips his punches something awful. I thought he would have outgrown that by now. If you're not particularly fast and you're not particularly busy tipping your punches is bad news. I now think his management wqs right when they said he's not ready. I'd be stunned if he landed even 15% of his punches against Ward. Best to fight a guy like Kirkland.
Decent beat down but as a massive favorite vs a "who" you really only open yourself up for scrutiny...sharp counters tend to follow. I think his methodical is catching up to him..it becomes practiced. He let this guy off more than once. He must have a challenge very soon and force a test and keep enough demand..intensity up.. to where hbo will actually see fit to air his fight. I really like him and see the skill..but you gotta keep going forward and not settle on going through the motions.
Just like Lucian Bute, GGG is getting too comfortable fighting these overmatched foes .. He doesn't know how it feels to be under adversity so as soon as he faces somebody who can hurt him back, dude might crumble...
I always thought QUillin was better and im even more convinced now.
GGG overrated man just like Lucas Mythese.... He's a glorified Arthur Abraham
LOL, gotta love boxing fans. One day Golovkin is the baddest man in boxing, one off night (maybe? I didn't see the fight) and all of a sudden he's overrated and JCC jr would fuck him up. Yeesh.
Iv never rated him. I saw his fight with the english lad (Macklin?) and the more iv read about him I wanted to see this fight and its like I was watching someone else.
Hes strong but can be subdued like Abraham and Pavlik could. I dont think hes any bigger a puncher than those two.
My point is, who is he beating? The guy he just fought had 3 losses
As soon as Adamu put any kind of pressure on him, he stopped working and walked straight backwards. Just like Abraham and sort of like Pavlik (more with movement with Pavlik).
When Adamu did throw he caught Golovkin easy.
