That's it. Do you think I was trying to infer something more than that?
You brought up the result of the fight as if it was relevant but as I pointed out, beating a 37 year old Reid is as relevant as Calzaghes win over Eubank, Marcianos over Louis and Holmes over Ali.
Relevant to what exactly? I replied directly to Master because I wasn't sure if he knew the two had met, that's it. I can't simplify it for you any more, I wish I could!...

If I was trying to make more of it than that then I wouldn't have went out of my way to point out that Reid was old at the time would I?!

Jesus... Only you would get excited over and try to dissect such a simple post...

I have to agree Ross, I am seeing a whole new side of you. I had forgotten Froch had fought Reid must have been some crazy come back from Reid.

When Groves beats a world champion we can talk. The title of thread is who is the better fighter. A young Robin Reid or George Groves. Not George Groves in the future when theres an improbably possibility he gets any better.

Did Robin Reid ever beat a world class fighter?

Reid was just a good domestic level fighter who managed to win a world title. It happens sometimes but he was nothing special. George Groves beats him easily. James Degale easily beats Reid too.

He didnt just win a title. He gave the two best and undefeated fighters in his weight their closest run fights and was in some peoples eyes robbed.

George has done nothing. Hes failed at his first attempt at a title, hes failed at his second. Its only a matter of time before he fails at his third.

DeGale is ok but has a loss to Groves and his career seems to be going nowhere. Neither he nor Groves have any impressive "name" wins.

I liked watching Reid, he was a very good fighter when on form

he was well past his best when he fought lacey, I think he would have beaten him in his prime

I also think calzaghe wasn't at his best when he fought reid and the fight would have been much more comfortable if he had

I think the most probably result of Groves v Reid - prime for prime is Groves by decision
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
