People say they don't wanna see Floyd rematch Alvarez. Yet they are pushing for a Thurman fight. Why? Cuz he beat Julio Diaz and Soto Karass? Thurman would have less success than Alvarez did

I think Floyds wants the 50 but his body and mind are in disagreement. Lets remember that he is not obligated anymore then any other past great to fight life and death with every challenge or fight the biggest perceived threat of the day.

Apply that pretzel logic to everyone else in history.
[QUOTE=ykdadamaja;1274931][QUOTE=chris6878;1274924][QUOTE=IamInuit;1274880]Like I said, Get a grip. Now I'm certain. You have been following this sport for about 4 years and believe that somehow nothing before matters in terms of legacy and prize fighting or how much they overlap. And in the minds of people like you, one is either a nuthugger or a hater.
In short you are a fucking pin head. I wont even bother to respond to tadpoles like you anymore who's sense of boxing history was last week and instead seek out real fucking dialogue and debate.

I agree with your point about Thurman not being ready and not beating anyone of note. I hate to be "that guy", but I don't know that u could have less success than Canelo. Even though CJ Ross had it close, it was a poor performance and I didn't see anything of note from Alvarez. You are right about Thurman likely being dominated in similar fashion.
On a side note, fights like the Alvarez, Guerrero...etc., fights are why I have an issue ranking Floyd over Duran. An in shape Duran would've destroyed Canelo. Chewed him up n spit him out. The reason I can see Floyd ranked higher is that guy comes to every fight in phenomenal shape and motivated, where Duran didn't and lost to some pretty sub par fighters.

I personally will throw a parade when Mayweather retires...but Thurman better slow his role and bone up on his basics before he even thinks Mayweather. Seriously, why are we so enamored with rushing guys into a career blender like they come with talent expiration datesIf Thurman is on a level of Floyd...cough cough...he'll take a gradual step up and shine and make a statement, if not he'll go the way of someone else previously sharing the "Floyd has to fight HIM" mantra...Shawn Porter
Thurman is one fight...1...from being continually caught with right hands and having his legs buckle in the 1st round with Soto Karass. His answer was to stumble into the ropes with his hands down. Soto Karass at the start of a fight has the speed of a horse drawn carriage, and one going downhill when he warms up. Thurman has potential, charisma and the gift for gab and a willingness to engage. He needs work and to get off this tag line of "one shot-one time" blah and power beats all. Floyds a giant size arsehole with a little man complex, but right now he would time and tame Thurman like he does one of his Snufalufagus looking body guards.
