Fighting the best and challenging yourself against the odds is what makes fighters great
You say he has influenced positive change but I would question his support of USADA which has been found lacking when VADA is clearly the better instrument
Again it is outside the ring stuff so holds no bearing on Floyd's perceived greatness as a fighter![]()
Cold Heart and a Weak Mind
Maywether has fought the best throughout his career. He has beat them all.
He has almost single handedly forced the issue on increased PED testing. Before he started insisting on it 6 years ago it was hardly considered. Now it's a staple for most big fights. This helps protect the fighters. Your personal feelings about VADA vs USADA are irrelevant compared to the good being done by the god being done to end the cheating.
The outside the ring stuff is very important to Floyd and it obviously factors into his perception of himself as the best ever.
He's going to have had a 19 or 20 year career where he's fought the best and beat them all. He'll retire with his health and brain fully intact, not a drooling, shaking vegetable.
He'll be rich as fuck, not some half way house living bum.
He'll have managed his career his way without getting screwed over by shady promoters and without having to answer to anyone but himself.
No other fighter has ever had this much control over their own careers. If you think that's nothing then you just have too narrow a view of what the sport and business of boxing is really all about.
He's been able to achieve all these amazing feats by being such a great fighter.
We'll have to agree to disagree about Floyd fighting the best (and beating them all)
apart from Genaro I can't think of a fight where Floyd wasn't the favorite, he never challenged himself as all the previous greats have
you may appreciate the business side of boxing but I prefer to concentrate on what is done inside the ring
other matters outside the ring like doing time for beating a woman does not concern me in regards to a fighters accomplishments between the ropes

Cold Heart and a Weak Mind
Mayweather is one of the best ever / all time greats, so it goes without saying that he's ALWAYS the favourite to win his fights.
The fact that you think that makes him less of a fighter is laughable.
I didn't say it makes him less of a fighterI'm merely pointing out that it brings his TBE claims into question
there were many big fights that he could have pushed harder to make but never materialized for one reason or another
Not all Floyd's fault for sure, but the only true way to show you are better than someone is to prove it, you don't get credit for saying you would beat someone, you get credit for doing it
I'll ask you again, do you think GGG is a risk and would you favor Floyd to win?![]()
