A lot of Russian sports fans are openly racist, and ironically behave more like dribbling primates than the black athletes they howl at.

That said I don't really care where they fight, Povetkin/ Wilder needs to happen already and the winner should face the Fury/Wlad winner.

Maybe that could have been worded better

I wouldn't go either. The champion should defend at home at all times.

I'm all for Wilder expanding his geographical horizons but he is the champ. What possible objections could Povetkin have to fighting in the U.S.? He cited "right circumstances". What are those? The objections are not money... they're location. Seems like an easy hurdle to overcome, and I figure it will pretty soon.

Personally, I give Povetkin better than a 50/50 chance to beat Wilder. Povetkin is by light years the most polished. IMO, he should be chomping at the bit for the chance to unseat Wilder, regardless of where they fight.

Anyone know what the numbers are for Wilder/Szpilka. If wilder's really not drawing a whole lot of fans (fighting the molinas of the world), the possibility does exist that the money and draw of a Russian fighter having an opportunity to fight for a world title in front of a home town crowd does pay off better than Wilder. The challenger should have to chase the title but with the Type of promoter driven f*ckery (catch weights, location, rehydration clauses, denying people stuff like knee braces) we have now throwing hurdles in front of challengers just to protect champions...these kind of x factors like nationalism driven cash hordes can even things a little.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

If Povetkin's promoter bids $20 million for the fight the champion is due 75-80% of that if the fight is in Russia. If Wilder can make fifteen or sixteen million plus US TV money and set himself up for life in one fight when he knows he's just one big punch in any fight away from exposure he'll be off over there like a shot.

behave more like dribbling primates instead of the black athletes they howl at.

the way you phrased it kind of makes an equation that sounds like regardless of how much more the fans act like dribbling primates... at the basic level there is still a correlation between black athletes and acting like dribbling primates. I'm sure it was purely unintended.

It's worrying that the pair of you could super impose something that is not there. When white Russian racists dress up in gorilla suits, make monkey noises and throw banana skins at black athletes then they are acting like our primate cousins, not civilized human beings.

We are all primates but pointing out the irony in white idiots claiming black humans are more like monkeys, whilst acting like a troop of animals themselves, does in no way infer that there is some credence in the correlation they are seeking to make.

The WBC set the purse bid date - Feb 26th. They have till then to make the fight otherwise Wilder is going to Russia if he wants to keep that belt.

My apologies if I offended you beanz, that was not my intention. It was a semantics thing. I did pause for a second when I read that statement so I guess in that sense i understood what ross meant. I should have pm'd that to you. It was bad form on my part. When you wrote "How?" I just naturally responded by hitting the reply button. It wasn't mean to be calling you out in anyway, just trying to be helpful.
