How is he the most decorated active HW? If you take the actual performances, his title wins aren't terribly impressive. Aside from those 2, ALL of his wins are stay busy type of opponents. Again I like him and would really want to see him win if he gets a big fight, just being realistic I'm not sure he'll have the output to do it.

He's cut from a different era and I think that'll work for him with people like Browne and some of the other shitty contenders today.

Holes in that though, as he easily could have lost to ancient Foreman and didn't do any better against him than Axel Schulz of all people just had prior, then the fight with Liakovich was dreadful until the very end and wasn't in that era or a better one. Shame Browne was taking PEDs or is a moron though, I think that was an interesting and even fight that would have told us where Briggs stands. The current landscape is actually as good as it's been in many years imo, fights just aren't being made.

Nothing wrong with that, Browne is a lot less talented than the other 3 so that would have been a safer bet for sure. All fighters pad their record to some extent yeah, but I always had the impression Briggs had done more than he really has, giving Lennox an early scare might well be his best showing all things considered. I'm sure he under achieved and hope he does still have enough to go out with a good win, just being honest here.

In 24 years and 67 professional fights Briggs holds exactly 1 legitimate win over a top ten ranked heavyweight, in a fight he was losing. Watched him from pro debut and while always likable, in top form and very marketable he's been milking the point where imagination and celebrity has out run the substance for years now.
