It´s silly to suggest Joe doesn´t belong in the top 10. Obviously he does. It´s also wrong to suggest he should be higher than 3. It´s a POUND FOR POUND list. If Mayweather and Pacquio (I can never spell his name) were natural supermiddles, they would both destroy Joe. Also, a lot of people want to make these lists into popularity contests, which they are not. People hate Mayweather and I can understand why, but he is easily the number one pound for pound. The race is not close. And that´s based on skill AND accomplishment. It´s like when Whitaker was number one and very disliked. But it was impossible to argue against his ranking, without sounding silly

Floyd has shoulder problems in the first fight with Castillo. He beat him realtively comfortably the second time around although ironically the judges had it closer.
And we have to remember that the first Castillo fight was Floyd on his worst night. So Floyd Mayweather in the worst fight of his entire professional career still won a decision, moving up in weight against a probable future Hall of Famer
Barrera's worst nights included getting stopped by Junior Jones and getting knocked the fuck out by Manny Pacquaio.
Pacquaio himself has been knocked out twice and lost a third time.
I just don't get how people pick on Floyd's worst performance as a professional, where he still won and think it refelcts badly on him, whilst completely overlooking the fact guys like Barrera and Pacquaio have multiple losses and have both been knocked out.
And for the record I agree that Castillo is not in the same league as Barrera BUT he sure ranks a lot higher than Junior Jones![]()
No way on earth is Hatton pound for pound better than Wright or Oscar.
These lists are usually sh1te, but for those who say Joe doesn't deserve his place, can you tell us what more he can do and who else he has to beat.
Everybody said he must fight Lacy - he fought and beat him
Everybody said he must fight Kessler - he fought and beat him
Everybody said he must fight B-Hop - he fought and beat him
Regardless of what you think of his earlier career, he has fought the top 3 guys (whatever you think of Lacy with hindsight) that he could possibly have fought, if that doesn't deserve his status in the p4p list what does?
Even VD has him at number 5 FFS![]()
Joes is top 5 p4p whatever anyone says - he has the evidence to back it up. Mayweather is without doubt #1, after that you could argue between Joe, Manny, Marquez etc.. as to who deserves the 2 slot (Let's not forget that Joe is only one unbeaten). All would be valid cases.
Those who say he shouldn't be anywhere near the top ten then sorry but you don't know boxing.
With a record of 45-0 (and it certainly isn't a say Darius Mizchaelzewski or Brian Nielsen pumped up type record is it) how can anyone argue otheriwse. He is 4 wins off the greatest record of all time (and I am not talking about Los Del Rio's 'Macarena' here)
Him and Mayweather are only long standing champs unbeaten - Cotto and Pavlik may join them in time, who knows...
What does Joe have to do now to prove his doubters wrong ? Pavlik or Jones arfe only real options
He is well worthy of the #3 p4p slot
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
Hatton is currently recognised as the best light welter on the planet.
It's been a long time since Oscar was a world champ let alone universally recognised.
Winky may have had a claim tyo being the best Light Middle and middle in the world a few years ago, but what's he done since drawing with Taylor?

In my opinion , i think that Joe need to do more for be classified in the Top 10 P4P , probably we will place him , but cmon not in the Top , he just came yesterday to fight with the Best of the World in US , in where have the most of Best Boxers of the World in his Div.......
THAT IS MY OPINION AND I RESPECT YOURS.......![]()
The 3rd Brit to go in will be David Haye. He has obliterated one division, and now he is about to embark to his second.
I can't debate the Ring's opinion on their p4p list as it is just that their collective opinion.
What is interesting to me is BoxRec's p4p list look at their top 10 (mind you this is done strictly by technical analysis)
1. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
2. Joe Calzaghe
3. Kelly Pavlik
4. Bernard Hopkins
5. Israel Vazquez
6. Manny Paquiao
7. Juan Manuel Marquez
8. Rafa Marquez
9. Winky Wright
10.Wladimir Klitschko
They don't even have Cotto in the top 10
Back to the topic at hand, I don't have a problem with Joe at #3 p4p, once Cotto has been around a little longer he will certainly dethrone him.
