Celestino Caballero accepts the challenge of Jhonny Gonzalez

The Mexican Jhonny Gonzalez, former WBO bantamweight world champion, launched a challenge to WBA super bantamweight champion, Celestino "Pelenchin" Caballero, to defend his crown before him.

Faced with this challenge, "Pelenchin" he said in Panama that he will fight wherever and he's even willing to fight even within the Federal District of Mexico against Gonzalez.

"That's not a problem, I will give him
the opportunity he wanted" said "Pelenchin".

This will be a good fight... I pick Caballero to defeat J-Gonz...

I salute J-Gonz for calling out Caballero... Celestino "THE TOWERING INFERNO" Caballero is one of the most avoided boxers around...

Actually both J-Gonz and Caballero still has a fight to tackle.

J-Gonz vs. Mauricio Pastrana next weekend, May 16.

Caballero vs. Lorenzo Parra on June 7.

Caballero vs. J-Gonz is a battle of super bantam giants. Caballero 5'11" in height and 72" reach while J-Gonz 5'8" with 71" reach.

I think Caballero is going to stop Parra in their fight but he cant overlook him cause hes a still good fighter. That said, I think he beats him fairly easily. Gonzales is a bit tougher a fight but I think Caballero stops him too.

If Parra is 100% I think he beats Caballero. Parra had been draining himself for years to make Flyweight for years. The move up in weight will benefit him greatly. He'll be stronger

I don't know why,.. but I f*cking hate Caballero's fighting style. He should have a rematch with DPDL first before anything else.

Me too would like to see a Caballero-PDL rematch ... Caballero is always calling out PDL (and other super bantam champs) but it seems PDL is scared of getting another mauling from the hands of Caballero ...

I'm really looking forward for that fight. It should be a good one. I don't think Juanma would the same mistake like Bautista did. (pitting Bautista with De Leon that early was a bad idea in the first place).

Looks like Jhonny has a change of heart...

Jhonny Gonzalez insists on the revenge VS "Magnifico" Vazquez or ask Ponce de Leon
    May 9th, 2008

Jhonny Gonzalez insist revenge against Israel Vazquez in the world championship super bantamweight of WBC or fights against Rafael Marquez or Daniel Ponce de Leon.

This was reported on Friday via telephone from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Reginaldo Kuchler, Jhonny agent, who added that the list of candidates are Vazquez, Marquez and Ponce de Leon.

There is talk of a fight of Jhonny against Celestino Caballero on the belt of the world super bantamweight WBA, but the Panamanian has an ugly style, which does not look pretty and that's why nobody wants to fight him," said businessman juarense.

Faced with this situation, the interviewee mentioned that the negotiations are aimed at revenge against the "Magnifico" Vazquez, one of the most sought after world champions after the trilogy against Rafael Marquez.

Jhonny gave a great fight, beating strong, although at the end was neglected and lost, but nobody got their hands as Gonzalez and another fight would be interesting for fans, promoters and television," he said.

The next Friday Jhonny Gonzalez will face the Colombian Mauricio Pastrana in the fight stellar in the Morongo Casino in Cabazon, Calif., in preparation for dispute a world crown.

Jhonny wants to prove that is the best in the world super bantamweight and therefore is sought revenge against Israel Vazquez, Rafael Marquez or Daniel Ponce de Leon super bantamweight belt by the WBO, in that order," Kuchler ended.

Caballero is indeed one of the most avoided boxer...
