So if that rationale was the case then why would Bush be a threat to the general election of John McCain? And why did John McCain win states that Bush never came close to winning For example the Northeastern states....McCain was a BIG winner there and those are the same people that despise W.

McCain did what ALL candidates do(if they are from the same party)...seek the approval (whether wanted or not) of the current President.

Al Gore got Clinton's approval...was a big deal made out of that Gore wasn't much like Clinton...he just got his support.

Bush is a threat to McCain, because McCain's positions are identical to Bush's and the American people don't like Bush.

Bush is an issue for McCain because Bush is a Republican and McCain is a Republican and they don't want more George Bush. McCain's political views have been different from Bush's for a LONG time and they don't like each other...but because they are from the same party it makes it easier to paint McCain as another Bush because his views are going to be CLOSER to Bush's than Obama's but it doesn't make Obama correct and Bush wrong.

W had a horrible Administration in terms of implimentation...I doubt McCain has that because he won't allow any Neo-Cons in his Administration

No Neocons. Who told you that?

Note to our readers: The online editor of THE WEEKLY STANDARD and proprietor of this blog, Michael Goldfarb, has taken a leave of absence effective today to serve as deputy communications director of the McCain campaign. He'll be focusing on their online activities. We'll all be assisting deputy online editors John McCormack and Samantha Sault in the herculean task of filling Mike's shoes for the next five months. Then we expect to welcome him back--unless he's appointed national security adviser in the McCain White House.

McCain's team are people like this who the Bush administration thought were too loopy to employ. He makes jokes about bombing Iran.

So we can blame McCain for the people around him but we do it to Obama and we're being crazy and irrational

The people you've already hired to advise you on your campaign and will form the backbone of your staff if you become president almost all being card-carrying Neocon bomb Iran loony tunes cannot be equated with the political views of the Pastor of your ex-church.

Obama doesn't even pay his nutjobs....they are getting ripped off!!!

Yeah Bill Ayers seems to be a good guy to be friends with whilst running for President only considering that Ayers tried to blow up various government buildings...I guess he'll have total access if Barry gets elected
