As a Calzaghe fan i would be upset at him if he didnt beat up Pavlik.

There will always be that question from knowlegless fans just as Mayweather has over Cotto and Marg.

He could not even beat up a 43 year old man. He could not even make him swell a little or even look like he was in a fight.

How many times you seen Hopkins swollen? hopkins was hurt to the body and in the 11th was put down by a right hook to the body but faked a low blow.

I think Pavlik must clean out his own division before he calls out Calzaghe.

Besides Abraham who else is there. I see Abraham his toughest in the middle weights but I still think Pavlik is too skilled and too powerful for him and knocks him out or stops him. I guess we will have to see how well Pavlik takes to the 10 pound catch weight than what he is used to but I still think he beats Hopkins and should really call out Calzaghe.

Hopkins was not hit in the body on that shot. He was obviously hit in the "cash and prizes" he just wasn't hit that hard. Bernard milked it for as much as he could. A bit of an acting job but definitely was not an effective body shot.

Don't you think there was legitimate reason for people to want to see Mayweather fight Cotto though? It still would be a great fight, and prior to losing to Marg Cotto was on a huge roll and had a better resume at Welter than Floyd in their time there. Margo I'll give you. But I don't see Pavlik-Calzaghe as that kind of matchup at all. Joe Calzaghe is no Mayweather, simple as. He's never had a string of fights against solid fighters where he has outclassed them all and not taken clean punchers, never. I think Pavlik does have a very good chance to beat Calzaghe, though he would still be an underdog for me. I don't think anyone is denying Calzaghe has better skills, but he would have to fight a very very good fight in order to keep PAvlik off him for 12 rounds without being hurt at some point, and Pavlik is the best finisher and hardest puncher he's ever fought imo.

Show me Abrham batting punches like Pavlik. Lockett could not even touch him. Pavlik grazes his head and he almost goes out. If he didnt take a knee that right hand was coming in fight over. Abrham goes into a shell pavlik bats punches away like he is wearing a set of mantis mits and he is warming the guy up in the locker room. I think Mayweather v Cotto and Calzaghe v Pavlik should 100% be made. As for hardest puncher? hmm at 160lbs Pavlik is a power puncher but at 168lbs its unknown if he hits as hard as Kessler or Eubank or Lacy. He is a good finisher though.

If enough guaranteed and projected money is offered to Joe, Joe will fight Pavlik. And you can't blame him for fighting Jones now. Every fight has its maximum dollar value and right now Joe versus Jones is right for now and Joe versus Pavlik is for afterwards.

I will cruise in from Ohio and buy the beer and the casino chips. Atlantic city is so much better than Vegas. I am a cold weather guy who grew up not far from the banks of the great lakes.
