A lot of boxing promoters couldn't match the cheeks of their buttocks. Mickey Duff..
I think Mayweather should fight still... His style he hasn't taken that much punishment, there are a ton of fights to further solidify his resume. I don't think Floyd will run into the same problems Roy did, I think he would do well to stop taking as many punches off the arms, but besides that if he beat Margarito, Cotto, Berto, etc, etc. He would do a lot for himself financially and legacy wise. I also think a fight with Pacquiao would be exciting and HUGE.

I don't want Mayweather-Hatton its been done, and Hatton is still one of the more dangerous guys for Mayweather IMO, I think his speed, accuracy and quick pressure cause Mayweather more problems then guys people really want him to fight like Cotto and Margarito, though I had Mayweather winning almost every round, Hatton with a different ref would have really made it difficult for Floyd.
I hope he comes back. Its a shame to see the best boxer on the planet right now sitting at home doing nothing while he still has so much left in his tank, and while there are still several amazing matchups that could be made.
If he were to come back and beat Marg or Paul Williams, his legacy would increase so much. And these are very winnable fights for him.
If Hatton beats and looks good against Paulie.
Then Hatton v Mayweather at 140 would appeal certainly.
We know from previous experience Hatton was out of his league at 147.
I've never understood this argument. It may have been relevant when Hatton fought Collazo, but it doesn't make sense when applied to the Mayweather fight. PBF started at a much lower class than Hatton, and he has never been a true welter in terms of his weight. Even when he fought at 154, he came into the ring weighing 150, less than Hatton weighs (on fight night) for many of his fights which take place at 140.
Hatton lost to Floyd, and always will lose to Floyd, because Mayweather is superior in every single aspect of the game, including (as was demonstrated) fighting dirty.
The ref is also inconsequencial, Hatton was being dominated on the inside and was beat conclusively at his own game. They could fight at any weight and PBF would win.
I'm not arguing that PBF is not a better welter, I just don't understand how it could be any different at 140. PBF won't have any trouble making weight, and Hatton won't be any quicker or hit any harder (if that was the case, why not come in at 140 before?).
I just don't see any way Hatton beats PBF. Doesn't mean I wouldn't be cheering for him, I just don't see how it can happen.
I talked to an older Cousin of Floyd Sr.'s at the bar the other day. He was sporting some serious bling he claimed Little Floyd had bought him. I asked him about Floyd's return and he said no way, that Floyd is happy and that retiring undefeated means a lot to him.
For what its worth I think Floyd is going to be broke sooner or later and have to fight. He spends money like water and throws it around all the time. The guy has gifted Millions to his distant family and so called friends. He keeps throwing these lame ass events around town that we all know aren't making money.
The winner of the Pacman-De la Hoya fight makes the most sense and the most money. Can't wait to see him fight again.
Not at all Cotto and Margarito's styles are so overrated for fighting MAyweather, people don't understand the value of footwork more than anything. If Margarito can't keep up with Mayweather he can't land, even when Baldomir tried to throw a 100 punches, he couldn't land anything. I know Margarito is a different fighter than Baldomir in some respects, but he isn't faster, and he isn't more accurate. Baldomir had been able to land cleanly on every opponent before Mayweather once he got into his rythym, but he couldn't find it against Mayweather.
Hatton has great footspeed ,and really good handspeed, it threw Mayweather off early, but Hatton clearly didn't get to fight his own fight, I still think mayweather dominated him, but he had some troubles doing it, I don't see the big trouble that Cotto or Margarito would present. margarito looked horrible early when Paul Williams was moving, I don't think Margarito would be able to get off if MAyweather decided to come inside. Cotto once again isn't super fast, isn't super hard to hit, and he has shown vulnerability. You can Mayweather doesn't hit as hard as Judah, but he sure wears down opponents more than Judah does, and he is a lot more accurate and quicker than this version of Shane Mosley.
As for Mayweather's size, he wasn't even a natural 140 pounder, and Hatton was a big 140 pounder, Mayweather wasn't even a very big lightweight. Its his skill that made him so good at these higher weights. Give credit where its due.
not suprise he only 31 plus 1p4p returning $$$
Way to many If's ,maybe's,coulda's.When I see Mayweather say he has the slightest interest in Fighting,I'll bite.Until then I contend that he needs to fight a current,Viable,Repsected and due Welterweight...Williams,Mosley,Cotto,Clottey,Marga rito.A Hatton rematch will prove absolutley nothing, except that Floyd can beat him again, probally in more definative fashion. What a statement for legacy.
