yeah id probably agree, although pacman vs JMM could have gone either way. OK so most people think that should hatton win he wont be p4p number 1, then that leaves the question who would be? would pacman still be number 1 because he is fighting a guy in a higher division or would it go to somebody else?
Right now I'm not sure I'd have him in my top ten so no.

Being p4p should be based on consistency not any one fight, we all know styles make fights, but they don't make one fighter consistently dominant, or make one guy consistently win against the top level of opposition no matter who it is.

The short answer is: No, Hatton wouldn't be #1 p4p.
To be sure, a strong argument would exist, however, if after beating Pacman, Hatton beat the winner of the Juan Diaz v. JMM fight. Additionally, take note that two spots in the top ten would free up if Calzaghe and Bhop retired in the next year (which is very probable).

I think, why can't Hatton be close to number 1 P4P as he's been up to 147 and beat some really decent guys there before being beaten by Mayweather who was P4P 1 and now retired... And Hatton owns 140... But that's exactly it, he's only owning 1 weight class at the moment even with his past exploits.
There are other fighters who are making a good go of getting through their division and actively looking outside their division for more challenges.. They were where Hatton was when he travelled up to 147, and there was big arguement for Hatton being P4P #2 then behind Mayweather, and if he actually beat Mayweather, in my mind would have been #1...
His only let down for the top spot is that he's unable to venture out of 140 anymore,,, and that 140 isn't the most stacked division at the moment by any means.. So the accolades just aren't there for him like other fighers.. His run at it was 1 to 2 years ago... Even if he beats Pac now I feel..

It's not gonna matter because Hatton is gonna get bulldozed!

The answer is flat out NO.
Why should beating a fighter who's two weight divisions above his peak fighting weight make Hatton # 1? Granted, Pac whipped DLH at 147, but you can't use that as a measuring stick.

No, but he should be in the top 6 if he does. Another top win puts him top 3 and then another win could put him top. A pretty tough thing to ask though.
yeah, these are all points to be considered. the reason i was saying this was because if hatton wins, he will have beat the p4p number 1. Like if hatton would have beat mayweather, there could have been no arguments over who was the best p4p. But this time if he beats p4p number 1 its not so clear cut as to wheather hatton would be the best p4p.
If Hatton beats Packman, it will be another victory against a blown up lighter wht boxer, Hatton has only beaten men lighter than himself, and strugled, against some boxers, of his own wht class, i'm sure we all know, who they are without a mention from me, Hatton is a 10 stone boxer, a pound for pounder must be able to cover more than one wht, a PFP HE AINT.
