It's very difficult for Cotto to make weight below 147... but sometimes huge money (maybe to the tune of $10M guaranteed purse) can convince you to agree to such terms...

Pacquiao went up to 147 to humiliate the Golden Boy (pause while I smile at the memory), so why should Cotto go down below 147 to fight Pac?

Remember the Golden Girl (a bigger star compared to Cotto) also went down to 147 to fight PAC... It's making compromises to make the fight more even and of course in exchange of huge money...

Also remember that GG was looking for "legacy cementing" fights no matter what the cost. He didn't hide (nor refute) the fact that he ran from potential fights with the likes of Margarito and Cotto himself. Hell... he would've taken on Ivan Calderon at 108 if he could starve himself that much.

Cotto is much more interested in fighting at his own weight, against other mega fighters that the public wants to see. So I don't know what Cotto himself would say... but if it was me I'd say "You want me... come get me at 147."
