I wouldn't be freaked out about it though, tens of thousands of people die everyday. Some of them are bound to be famous.

George Carlin was an old favorite comedian of mine that died last year. You can also add Heath Ledger to the list.
A lot of good fighters have passed away too.

Putting aside his faults, Bobby Fischer, dead 2008, reached for the top and got there. He got me interested in chess.

eh, I thought it was a crap movie really, kind of hokey. Nothing to do with Fischer really. But that's just me.
Weird dude; genius and the best player ever though. You see that movie Searching for Bobby Fischer? Think I'll watch that tonight since you brught him up.
I do consider him the best all time, in the sense that he was further ahead of his contemporaries than other greats, and that includes Kasparov, who was probably stronger in absolute terms than Fischer. The only player that maybe matched Fischer for absolute dominance was Paul Morphy back in the 1850s

Hmm; yeah movie really didn't have anything to do with Fischer but I thought it was good; especially for kids who show an interest in the game. I did lke the occasional footage of Bobby they showed though.

I forgot about Fischer. There's some documentaries on him that's worth watching. The documentary on the Spassky/Fischer championship was very interesting.
