Weird dude; genius and the best player ever though. You see that movie Searching for Bobby Fischer? Think I'll watch that tonight since you brught him up.
eh, I thought it was a crap movie really, kind of hokey. Nothing to do with Fischer really. But that's just me.

I do consider him the best all time, in the sense that he was further ahead of his contemporaries than other greats, and that includes Kasparov, who was probably stronger in absolute terms than Fischer. The only player that maybe matched Fischer for absolute dominance was Paul Morphy back in the 1850s

Hmm; yeah movie really didn't have anything to do with Fischer but I thought it was good; especially for kids who show an interest in the game. I did lke the occasional footage of Bobby they showed though.

I forgot about Fischer. There's some documentaries on him that's worth watching. The documentary on the Spassky/Fischer championship was very interesting.

In the leadup to the world title match in '72 he was amazing

in three elimination matches leading up to the title matche, he defeated Taimanov 6-0, Larsen 6-0, and Petrosian 6-2. That's an achievement that was never equalled before or since. Then when he faced Spassky for the title, he made some weird blunder in the first game, and forfeited the 2nd game, to go behind 0-2. He then scored won 5 and drew 3 in the next 8, and the rest is history.

I bought a chess set the other day. I started eating it but it tasted horrible, so I took it back to the shop and said, "Here, this is stale mate."
The shop-keeper said, "No it's not."
I said, "Yes it is. Check mate."
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
