    About 900 years.
Not to hijack the thread, but last summer I helped excavate an old First Nations (Native) village, the oldest part of which was estimated to be around 5,000 years old.

Do you have pics of the village itself?

That's where you found those artifacts right?

Yeah, it's where those artifacts were found (1000+ board if anyone's interested /shameless plug).

I have a few pics, but it doesn't look anything like a village. This whole area is part of a rain forest, so things are reclaimed pretty quickly. After my dinner I'll try and post a few good pics in this thread (if that's ok with you). Know any good image-hosting sites?

He's using photobucket. For anonymity imageshack is also good.

Please do post them, I use photobucket. I think it would be cool if anyone else ever visits any ruins or castles etc. I should be going to Montezuma's Castle soon too.

Killer (and anyone else who's interested): I found a bunch of pics, I'll start putting them up tomorrow. I'll likely put them on the 1,000+ board though.

These are awesome. When you showed your last set of pics and mentioned you were going to Wupatki I immediately went and checked it out, did a bit of research and saw so many amazing pics I wanted to post them, but figured I'd wait to get your perspective. Was worth it.

    Keep em coming.

Flash in the past.Thats a great look and very humbling to see what early civilizations had to go through to ensure everyday dwellings.Today we nearly have a breakdown when the electricity goes out for one hour

Have they done any excavations, find artifacts?

Yeah there have been quite a few excavations, what makes the Wupatki Pueblo interesting is that they found artifacts (pottery and hand tools) that were determined to be made from all over North, Central and South America. They found skeletons of Macaw's and other animals that are natively tropical. They think it was the major trading hub of the southwests native peoples.
