I was complaining; but fukk it if Cotto isn't bothered with it then who am I to complain? I just want to see it. This board will be fun in the buildup

What, hes sending his silk adorned emissaries now lol.Think Arum will kiss his ring when he receives him

I think Manny will cause many cuts.I just dont like Cottos bad habit of backing to the ropes.Enough math tutorials and calculating fractions.Just box.Going with Pacquiao.

I do not like when Cotto goes against the ropes either, but it only happens against physically big welterweights who pressure Cotto (Mosley, Plasterito,Clottey). Manny is not as big as those three and isn't a "pressure" fighter. This is the main reason why I give Cotto the edge. In my opinion, it could get ugly for Manny.

I agree with this. I don't think Cotto is going to sit on the ropes cause that's exactly where Pac would want him to be. I see Cotto imposing his strength and try to back Manny up. But I also wouldn't be surprised to see him box like he did against Mosley. Cotto has more than one trick up his sleeve which makes it difficult for me as a Pacquiao fan.

This is going to be a good one!

yea, how some people are trying to compare it to the Hatton fight is ridiculous, i think it's going to be a good tough fight for BOTH fighters

I'm sure there's still a hiccup or two coming in the promotion. Just because Michael Koncz or whoever is flying over that doesn't tell me the fight is definitely getting signed. It was supposedly as good as signed about 3 weeks ago then it all went back & forth again. Once I see them standing together I'll believe it.

Obviously I'll be rooting for my hometown boy, Cotto. But much respect to Pacquaio for agreeing to 145, which shouldn't be much of a stretch for Cotto.

I think Cotto will win, if only for his warrior mentality and his resourcefulness. AND... he's got the boxing skills and power to go along with it.

HOWEVER (there's always a catch)... Cotto needs to show the speed he showed against Mosley, and also needs to make sure he brings his "A-game" defense to the fight. Finally, I hope his cut heals well, 'cause its sure to be tested against Manny. Either way... it should be a hell of a fight. Can't wait!!

lol he won't fight Mayweather but Marquez a year from now is realistic, maybe not exactly 12 months, but say by the end of 2010. I see no reason why Khan, as long as he continues to improve won't be too fast, young and even smart for Marquez.

People seem to assume Marquez would just open up and blow him away but Khan WON'T be fighting like that any more. Against Marquez, Roach would have it ingrained into him more than ever to just get in and out and keep away.

Marquez isn't hard to hit and he'll be in his late thirties and probably coming off a loss to Floyd so the tide will shift. Who would have thought 18 months ago that Khan could beat Marco Antonio Barrera?

Nobody stays at the top for ever and Khan will have a decent chance at upsetting him by the end of 2010 imo.

PS. I'm NOT saying Khan could beat Marquez right now, I'm talking end of next of year. All you who scoff who would thought a couple years ago that Carl Froch could ko Jermain Taylor?

145 is a perfect weight imo, both fighters can make that easily enough and in forcing Cotto to be just a little tight Pacquaio isn't putting himself at too much of a size disadvantage.

As I see it 145 is the best possible weight limit. If Manny lost at 147 people would say he was too small. At 145 neither fighter is really having to compromise too much.

I hope the much coveted WBO strap is on the line too, if only to antagonise the purists who will see great insult in the fact that a former flyweight and p4p best fighter in the world, arguably the most exciting fighter in the world could win this prized belt by forcing Cotto to weight an entire pound less than he did against Joshua Clottey.

No doubt they would rather the WBO vacated the belt and awarded it to the winner Antonin Decaire and Rafal Jackiewicz

A few years ago who the hell knew Carl Froch was??

I think if Khan beats Marquez, it will be because JMM is finished & I say that as a Khan fan. Even coming off a Floyd loss, I reckon JMM goes back down to 135 & is comfortable for a while.

I was also joking in the original post, partly in the hope Missy & Miles would see it & start raising hell
