Nice try...It did have the sarcasm (
I understand well formated sarcasm, but when it makes no sense I don't understand it.
Anyways IMO 145 can help Cotto because it will make his movement a little quicker which is the only chance he has of catching Pacquiao, even if he was as fast as he was at 140, I just can't see Miguel cutting the distance as quick as Manny can expand it.) smiley next to it, that should have been the dead giveaway
I don't think 145 will help Cotto, but I don't see it majorly hindering him. Pacquiao beats him though, my only concern is both guys are fairly strong starters & can fade off a bit, so that might play into one of their handsDon't start with me...
Nice to see you on board now Adam and are finally agreeing with me that a 145 catchweight was no big deal.
Rains was being sarcastic though, he was rolling his eyes at the likes of you who in the past made posts telling us that even a single pound was critical and that Cotto would be a shell of a fighter if he fought at anything less than welterweight
Now you're even hoping for more catchweight fights with Mosely at 145, interesting turn around.
Can you find a quote from me were I said that Cotto would be a 'shell of a fighter' for dropping one pound?
I was saying that even a pound COULD be a big factor depending on the fighter... and that still reigns true.
my point was not too say that an individual fighter can't possibly lose a single pound... but that each one can be significant... every one past a certain point represents fluids and sugars drained from organs.
All I've wanted to do is make Pac's fans 100% clear of his intentions in getting people to drop weight for him now that he is up to welterweight (sort of...) and that is a stone cold fact... I've not even criticism him for doing it... I've said, countless times... fairplay to him for sorting a mega fight under the fight conditions... his fans talk about him as if he is holier than jesus christ though.
There have been multiple weights talked about for two fighters of completely different stature... Do I think Cotto can do drop a pound? Do I think he'd be drained below 143? Do I think Mosely is tight at 147 and may struggle to go lower? Do I think a Mosely fight at 140 would be crazy and Cotto may struggle too?
Possibly
(Do you purposefully not read the ifs, coulds, cans and mays in posts so you can be more belligerent)
But I don't even profuse to know how well Cotto will do at getting down to any weight... I know what possibilities there are and I know what factors his team will be up against in getting him down to any weight... When will I know if they've pulled it off or not? FIGHT NIGHT... the same as everybody else.
And yeah... I said I'd like to see Pac-Mosely at 145... two things you (suprisingly) didn't seem to pick up on was the fact that I said IF Mosely could do the weight and also the large amount of blatant sarcasm (thanks for pointing out that he was being sarcastic btw...
) from me saying that Arum had made 145 seem like such a good deal.
Now go and scuttle off and try and quote me as saying that 145 would definitely be too much for cotto.
You created an entire thread telling us how you hated the way Pacquaio was blatently trying to weight drain fighters, saying if it was about ahievement or respect he'd move up to the weight and fight them properly.
Here's one quote from you
I'm sure plenty of people can and will disagree with this but there is one thing I keep on hearing from people who clearly have very little knowledge of human physiology and a boxer's weight making process - "What difference will a pound or two make?".
A few posters including myself have challenged those 'informed opinions' and the likes of Bilbo and other pac fans have tried to react as if disagreeing is crazy
Well it seems now you are agreeing with my 'informed' opinion after all.
I've just fucking said that a pound COULD be significant... I said it in that thread and I said it in this thread... change your name to Micheal Moore please, you remind me of him. Why would me knowledge regarding homeostasis change on nothing more than a whim exactly?
No doubt you will now say you're rants wern't to do with Cotto fighting Manny at 145 but about even lower catchweights
lol... Bilbo they weren't... I'm sorry but I can't change that. I wanted to make sure the Pac minions knew what whiter than white Pac's intentions are in asking fighters to drop extra weight (you still haven't answered why he's asked for 145). I have never mady any cement predictions regarding outcomes... just intentions... hence the fact that all you've been able to come out with is a quote about me talking about weight loss in general.
Again with the Micheal Moorer crap... you know my posting wasn't specific, yet you used the quote anyway... trying to embarass me out of countering your argument by pre-emptivly saying "I know you're going to say-" nice attempt at tactics/debate skills... but your bullshit won't work.
but the FACTS are you bitched and moaned about this fight being made saying Manny was doing it to drain Cotto
No Bilbo... for fucks sake come on... again do you just not register words like if, could or may? His intention is to take Cotto's edge off by extending his boil down... I have never said if this will work or not and what weight he would have to ask for to do it... again just his intention
and when I insisited it was a great fight (at 145) you created an entire thread as to why you disagreed.
No... I created an entire thread when posters with little to no knowledge of human physiology were making ludicrous statements that draining a pound of fluids and glycogen from a person's already dehydrated body would be insignificant. I even said that if Pac beat Cotto it would be a GREAT achievment but that it would be down a notch from if it wasn't at a catchweight... so yeah, not only was that not the point point of my postings but it's basically the complete opposite to what you just said. I can see the shit you're trying to pull here but it won't work because I know EXACTLY what I've said. <3
All of my arguments related to this have been specifically about Manny fighting Cotto at a catchweight of 145 lbs. I have never waivered from that so what were you actually disagreeing with me over?
Are you a little Butt hurt because I mentioned you in the thread? Get over yourself... a few people made smiliar 'what's a few pounds going to do" type posts... I just happened to remember yours. You could have spent all day talking about Yettis bilbo... that wouldn't magically make my post regarding Yettis though... I clearly outlined in my post that I was talking about the hypothetical loss of an extra pound... in no specific fight... I even explained that this was because Pac's catchweights and the hypothetical outcomes for various fighters can be discussed to death. basic physiology cannot.
If you too think at 145 matchup between the pair is a great fight then why all the toy throwing and hissy fits about it?
I've been proven correct. A catchweight at 145 lbs IS a great fight, one that virtually everyone wants to see.
hahahah! no you haven't!
Any talk about catchweights at 142 or 143 or whether Mosely can go under 147 is completely irelevent,
lol... yeah! they are... regarding a fight between cotto at 145 anyway
nobody but you every brought them up.
lol... ok... so are you telling me that when I was either talking about general physiology to try and educate the likes of you or Shane's ability to hit catchweights that I was actually talking about Cotto? lol... I guess they need to fire your/my school's english teachers then
I have only ever spoke specifically about a fight at 145 lbs between Cotto and Manny and you disagreed every single time I said it was a great fight.
I belive I've addressed this already... my intention was for pac's minions to understand what his intentions were.... not tear the fight to peices.
But now you don't.
Also, again... please explain to me in detail, Pac's intention in making Cotto lose a pound.
Seeing as we both know one pound of mass difference on fight night is insignificant and Pac intending to take Cotto's edge off by extending his boil down is ludicrous accoring to you... then what could his intention be?
