The weigh-in should take place in the morning. Pacquiao is giving Cotto's weigh advantage. Remember Pacquiao highest weight is 148 lbs while Cotto can rehydrate at 160lbs.
145 lbs is reasonable but it should take place the weigh in in the morning.

Cotto has only foughten good southpaws though, and He looked great against Quintana, but he didn't look great against Judah in many parts of that fight, and its not just a slight speed edge for Manny, he is way faster, especially in his footspeed which Quintana didn't have and Judah didn't use.
That is why Oscar and Hatton had nobody to land on. Also timing works against speed when the guy with doesn't have superior timing, when that is the case it only works against the other fighter. Manny is great at getting in quickly, landing one punch, and getting out.
I do agree that Cotto is far too great of a fighter to be written off, but his chances IMO can't be higher than 30%, but I could definitely see him ko'ing Manny if he is able to cut off the ring, which I don't think he will be able to do.
Why should it?? Your going on as if Pac is a featherweight or something? Hes the number 1 fighter at 140 lbs hes going up in weight that many fighters do, because he is the cash cow in this fight and p4p number 1 he has been able to negotiate the fight 145. I think with the current situation its a fair weight.
Nice try...
Also, again... please explain to me in detail, Pac's intention in making Cotto lose a pound.
Seeing as we both know one pound of mass difference on fight night is insignificant and Pac intending to take Cotto's edge off by extending his boil down is ludicrous accoring to you... then what could his intention be?
I never thoought this would happen. Good on both men and Arum for seeing sense!
I'm sure there's still a hiccup or two coming in the promotion. Just because Michael Koncz or whoever is flying over that doesn't tell me the fight is definitely getting signed. It was supposedly as good as signed about 3 weeks ago then it all went back & forth again. Once I see them standing together I'll believe it.
Obviously I'll be rooting for my hometown boy, Cotto. But much respect to Pacquaio for agreeing to 145, which shouldn't be much of a stretch for Cotto.
I think Cotto will win, if only for his warrior mentality and his resourcefulness. AND... he's got the boxing skills and power to go along with it.
HOWEVER (there's always a catch)... Cotto needs to show the speed he showed against Mosley, and also needs to make sure he brings his "A-game" defense to the fight. Finally, I hope his cut heals well, 'cause its sure to be tested against Manny. Either way... it should be a hell of a fight. Can't wait!!

Ok no worries thanks for clearing that up. So everytime you disagreed with my posting about Manny fighting Cotto at 145 lbs being a great fight, you now admit that you responded by posting completely irelevently about Manny fighting other fighters at other catchweights, and that this had no bearing on anything I was saying.
Good at least we agree now.
Ok some quotes from you
I've been very vocal in criticising pac for what I feel is a blatant attempt to weight drain bigger fighters to take their edge off.
A few posters including myself have challenged those 'informed opinions' and the likes of Bilbo and other pac fans have tried to react as if disagreeing is crazy
When Mosley is saying it regarding himself and Nazeem Richardson is saying it regarding Cotto surely it must be pretty hard for all but the elite trainers who (aren't) posting here to disagree?
Ok that all sounds to me like you were criticising my statement that a fight between Cotto and Manny at 145 lbs.
If you wern't I have to ask why you named me specifically as the person you were disagreeing with?
But it's cool, we both agree now and that's all that matters. I'm glad you came over to my way of thinking in the end and hopefully we can all sit down together in our virtual forms and enjoy this megafight tofether later in the year.![]()
Would it be sweeter though if Manny says... "Fukk it, let's fight at 147!"? I think it will superpump his fans more. Shock the world once more.

i think they should have just fought at 147. But then the same people here will be complaining the guy would still be weight drain because of his lifestyle. See all the excuses why Ricky Hatton was knocked out, because Hatton was weight drain at 140, because of lifestyle.![]()
Hatton and Cotto are two completely different people.
Left right and centre you keep repeating that same redundant point but the fact is that the general consensus is: Pac beat Hatton because Hatton was a shit boxer compared to Pac... Pac was simply better.
being overweight in between fights has nothing to do with your ability to hold a guard or use lateral movement and basically everybody agrees that that is why ricky got sparked. Eating too many pies doesn't affect your ability to listen to your trainer.
My... things are getting a bit derailed here aren't they...![]()
