It is from one side because that's the only side making demands of Cotto to cut more weight. Y'see how that works now?

I think Cotto should say yes to whatever weight Roach wants them ignore it and come in at his ususal weight.
I don't think Cotto will think that's such a good idea.. he'll probably have his wages docked
ah but if he gets the win It's not like losing your title on the scales or do we have a new weight division, 'whatever freddie roach says'.

If these tactics were in place outside of boxing people would be calling it out for the BS it is.
But they can just threaten to pull out should he weigh over. And obviously that's no good for anyone.

Remember this is a career high payday for Cotto, and obviously a fight he believes he can win otherwise he'd have refused it.

Unlikely. You seem to think it's good to insist on bringing a fighter down in weight? How is that good? These guys work real hard to make weight, it's not like the rest of the tubby world dropping a couple of pounds. It's much easier to add it than to trim fat when you don't have much to lose anyway.

Oh let's have a race I'll drive a Ferrari but you can only have a Skoda but you will get paid a lot. That's fair.

Well its happened in the past.

No - i don't care what weight they fight at. I want to see great fights and this is a great match-up.

Cotto has no problem with fighting at 145.. so what's the problem?

I bet he was far more concerned with how much money he would make than the couple of pound in weight

This fight will show us a couple of things #1 If Cotto is the same fighter he was before the Margarito fight and #2 If Pacquiao handles bodywork better than he used to.

Sure Cotto has been buzzed by a southpaw before (Zab Judah)...but I think he's got enough in him to beat Manny if he fights smart and is able to adapt to his new trainer.
