It's both a catchweight fight AND a welterweight fight. It falls within the welterweight limit with the maximum weight allowed moved down two pounds. But it still qualifies as a welterweight fight because it's below 147 and above 140. And remember, Cotto weighed 146 against Clottey so I really don't see one more pound as a big deal. Cotto agreed to it and has made clear he doesn't see it as an issue, so I don't know why anyone else should.
Sorry man that statement doesn't make sense.
it does when you smoke crack and have a man crush on Pacquiao, backing up the contract crap so much, don't get why Haye and his fans bitched so much about Klitschko's demands, nobody put a gun to Hayes head either
just cause it's in the contract doesn't make it right

You're acting like Manny is a king on the throne forcing the peasant Cotto to do his bidding. Cotto could have told Manny to stuff it, but he doesn't care about the weight. So, yes, it IS right.

And as far as my statement about it being a catchweight and a welterweight fight, it DOES make perfect since if you have the ability to think. Between 140 and 147 is welterweight. 145 falls in that area, therefore it's a welterweight fight. But the limit was moved down two pounds, so it's also a catchweight. It ain't rocket science, some of you will just complain about anything.

Oh, and I wouldn't even say I am a huge Manny fan. Paul Williams is my favorite active fighter and Manny is well down the list, though I do like him. I also like Cotto. I am pulling for Manny just because I would like to see history made, but I will be happy for Cotto if he wins.
