It's the Brazilian police who had a press conference where they displayed the knife and purse strap and announced his wife as their suspsect. Was the media not supposed to report that? It's the police who have completely about faced and now say he was found hanged? That changes things so drastically. Maybe that's why she said it would be cleared in a few days.
I doubt much has been lost in translation here so wtf accounts for the two different stories?

Hell someone could hang themselves outside just inside my front door and they would never be found until neighbours stopped by to complain about the smell
