But the most interesting thing is they are now saying he was found hanged. If that's true it changes everything.

Even then, the strap thing couldn't be explained that way because the marks would easily be erased by the marks of the rope much larger and deeper as a hanging body is a bit harder on the body than a purse strap. Also, they were in a hotel room, so manifestly, she would have ran around a hanging body at some point, it's not like of they did rent a mansion.
