The headbutt that leads to the stoppage is replayed at 4:43 but you see an earlier headbutt at the beginning of the clip, and despite what the commentators say, that looks deliberate as well. It's certainly an unnatural head movement!

That first one on the clip didn't look deliberate to me at all, unless you think Ward has an eye in his ear or some kind of bat sonar.

The second one was bad. I admit that. I would like to see both Dirrell and Ward clinch a whole lot less, because I think their speed makes it unnecessary. I know both guys have been rocked pretty hard prior to the tournament, so that may play a factor. Not trying to justify it, just trying to understand it.

Yep, we're mentally fucked as whole in America. It's funny when two American fighters fight, then home state or city get behind their guy.

It's funny when I hear Mayweather say of Marquez "He got a whole country behind him" implying that he himself doesn't have citizenship to any country that would back him. In America it's like "Yeah the minorities are American when they're fighting non Americans so its okay to root for them, but when it comes to American vs American then there are a bunch of stupid little quirks that one uses to determine who one will back. i know Britain and Denmark are 2 completely different countries, but they both are European countries and i only was referring to the Brits being upset cause well lets face it about 60% of the people on here are Brits, and from what i've seen most of the ones bitching and moaning about Ward are the same ones that were praising Froch

The ref didn't warn Ward for holding, because Kessler was holding just as much, and Ward was the only one doing any work on the inside. It would have been a lot different if Kessler was trying to get in to throw punches, and Ward was tying him up to stop him and get back out, but Kessler barely threw any at all on the inside.

The last headbutt was the only on that looked like it was intentional, but even that one could have been some awkward follow through after missing a punch.

I really don't see how you can say Ward fought a negative style, either. He was moving back for much of the fight, but threw and landed a lot of punches. He often pressed the action, even sometimes with an abandon that Kessler wasn't able to take advantage of.

The thing that bothers me about Ward is the whole fighting for the Lord BS. I guess Jesus just loves him more?
