I hope Miranda pull this off.
Froch says that Bute was offered to fight him but declined and that Bute just wants easy title defences.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
i cant judge the guy because i havent seen him against someone noteworthy, i def agree that its time for him to step it up
Not his fault everyone wanted to see the Librado Andrade rematch, he took it and erased any question marks. He KO'ed the very hard hitting Alejandro Berrio, who was coming off two very good wins. Also a dominant win over Sakio Bika, and i think his competition has been good. If you actually dig deeper.
Now all of the Super Six stars are busy, and Lucian Bute cannot fight any of them. He has to take any fights he can get, i think in the future it will be the best thing for the division, that he's actually not in it IMO. Because the winner of the Super Six tournament vs Lucian Bute, in 2 years will be huge.
HBO and Kellerman clearly stated they want that fight so I believe it will happen. If ever Martinez wins, the fight could happen if Pavlik lose solely by a close margin otherwise, it's all deep under and if ever it doesn't happen, that's where the Hopkins trail might get interesting once again.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends
I think Pavlik should stay at 160. Bute is getting bigger evry fights and i dont think thats its a good matchup for Pavlik. That being said, i think this fight will be made, unless Pascal wins against Dawson, wich i dont think will happen. Here Pascal vs Bute would be very big.
Bute wanted the fight...Froch wanted the fight...Bute agreed to fight in England....This was IF Bute Andrade 2 fell through...Neither of the big networks (Sho/Hbo) wanted Bute Andrade 2....
Froch and his people then became arrogant putting stiulations on the fight on top of the agreement to fight in England...So talks of setting a date were scrapped.(That was Butes idea by the way)...
Bute/Andrade ended up signing and getting network support....Bute still wanted Froch and after the Taylor fight was hoping it would materialize but the Super 6 ended up spoiling everyones plans
Bute seems very overrated here. I will tell you that there is no doubt in my mind that Miranda is more underrated though.
Bute may win, but there is no way Miranda will lose. Most people think Pantera has no chance. This will be a war. No chance Bute comes out a winner without the battle of his career.
I would be surprised if it lasts 5 rounds. Miranda has power but that's about it, Goosen surely made him better but he doesn't have the speed or technique to fight back at what comes for him. If Bute did smoke off Andrade in a few rounds, I don't want to imagine what's coming off for him

OK this is just a tale of 2 passing trains here going in different directions but you would honestly be surprised if it went 5 rounds? I don't see how you could be surprised. Bute has only stopped Andrade and Zuniga in that distance. The Andrade kayo came out of nowhere, and it wasn't the result of Bute pressing for a knockout, just a perfect shot. Zuniga was just an average fighter overwhelmed by the atmosphere itself it seemed. Other then that I can't think of anyone he's stopped in 5.
Miranda definitely is an underdog but at least he's a dog with a chance to win the fight, plus he has a few things working to his advantage. It's almost guaranteed that Bute will be fighting from the backfoot where he fights best. The only guys to have beat Miranda in the past have been those that chose to stand up to the bully and try to push the man backwards. Abraham just kind of exploded on him, but Ward and Pavlik systematically broke him down with pressure. Miranda will likely be the one bringing the heat. Bute isn't an inside fighter to say the least. Miranda is going to be able to at least fire off his shots without getting smothered.
Also, perhaps most importantly, if Bute thinks this is a walkover like many here do, then he's playing into Miranda's hands. Miranda is a mean dude in the ring, he is good at playing off a guy's fear and negativity (Allan Green) and maybe gets broken down by confidence. Bute likes to be cute in there sometimes just to show off, he's facing in my opinion the hardest puncher he's ever faced. He better be careful and not take unnecessary chances.
I still think he'll win but it would have to be a perfectly placed shot like against Andrade (who actually was having a better second fight early until the knockdown and knockout) to do it in less then 5 rounds. This is definitely as credible of a fight as any in the division available for Bute right now so I don't know why it would be taken lightly.
