Feel for Pavlik a bit but mass respect for both.Martinez is quality but can be frustrating as hell ha.Hope Pav keeps at it and wel...doesnt turn to other things,Hes a good guy.Rematch would be good
This guys resume could read tko 6 cintron( robbed of that), williams possible decision, and pavlik decision, dam nice resume...and always class
big props to pavlik those cuts definitely bothered him...feel for him, hopefully he sticks around

That was some upper cut that Bute landed.....
Miranda learned he shouldnt clown and talk smack during the prefight/promotion but forgot that during the fight. His trainer should have slapped the shit out of him in between rounds after he first started that crap not that it would have made a difference.

I thought it was a bit of an early stoppage in the Miranda vs. Bute fight.
Reminded me of Oliver McCall vs. Lennox Lewis I.

Congrats to the new champ!
I may be in the minority(which is fine) but I thought in the rounds prior to the cut Pavlik was starting to figure him out. He was starting to make Sergio miss wildly and frequently out jabbing him. I thought Pavlik was on his way to eeking out a close points win...maybe a disputed decision to some. Once he got cut, he just broke down like Juan Diaz.
Speaking of Diaz's. Where the hell was Pavlik's cutman Miguel Diaz?
What the hell was Miranda thinkingBefore the knockout, I thought he looked helluva lot better technically than he has in the past. In retrospect his handlers should have probably waited for another shot at Stieglitz.

No, I thought exactly the same. Pavlik started to get closer in the 4th and then in the 5th you sensed a change in the ebb of the fight. The cut was a bad one and blood was oozing out. There must have been issues with visibility. To an extent Martinez made adjustments, but that cut occured at almost the same time. Which was it? Did Martinez find a second wind or did Pavlik wilt because of the bleeding? Probably a bit of both. There is no doubt that Pavlik looked like a fish out of water down the stretch and Martinez was coming on. I think Pavlik deserves another shot at Martinez and it is in the contract, but he really needs to show more than what he did. In the face of adversity Pavlik was far too meek. Martinez fought out of his skin today and good on him for getting the win, but there are question marks. Cuts affect different fighters in different ways, look what Pac did to Morales in the rematch. I'm not saying Pavlik is Manny Pac, but he was well in the fight going into the 9th and arguably up on the cards with the KD.

FINALLY sergio gets a decision in the states
Even though he battered pavlik i seriously pondered whether martinez would actually get the decision
Pavlik is the most fabricated world champ of all time. Ive said from day one a top quality fighter will always get the better of kelly and i was right all along.
martinez is the bees knees, seriously hoping to see him in with williams again down the line
one dangerous horrible bloke
