I know Oscar was a good fighter, but let it go down in his hall of fmae record, Oscar was and is a greedy money hungry bully.

Well first off, EVERY fighter is in it for the money, at least primarily.. You seem to caught up in the idea that to box is for the glory, and not to make a living. It's very pretentious imo. But secondly, if Oscar was in it ONLY for the money, he wouldn't fight at all. That should be painfully obvious, he is nearing billionaire status and has no financial worries in sight, he can rely on his promotional company doing well for a long time. Any payday he makes is insignifigant to his total earnings at this point. Having said that, he, like any world class boxer, is still looking for the highest possible earnings in a fight. If he want's Cotto, then good for him, it takes two to make a fight and it shows he is still hungry if you ask me.

Its pretentious to believe that our sport is more than a business where the participants merely seek the most commercial names so as to make profit from the fans?
That goes against everything I train for.

Oscar's business is funded by his boxing earnings and his status in the sport. Is it good for him in business to go out on a loss?

Once again, why Cotto? Ids there no man his own size he could fight?
Over the past years, Oscar has raked in money, through manipulating fighters to come up in weight to fight him. Whats the issue with competing as an actual Light Middleweight against Light Middleweights?

At the end of the day Oscar is a fighter I respect for his early ring exploits, but at this stage he's merely motivated by greed.

Alfonso Gomez was a man in the same weight division ranked in the top ten by the sanctioning body in which Miguel holds a world title in. Making it a legit match regardless of Gomez skills.
Would be a good match to have ODLH face Sergio Martinez, Roman Karmazin, Sergei Dzindziruk, Joachim Alcine, or Alex Bunema? They are tanked in the top ten afterall. It's not like Alfonso had an impressive resume or score when he faced Cotto. Was there anybody out there who really thought Alfonso Gomez was a complete threat for Cotto?
If people dislike ODLH so much and think he has nothing to offer in the ring then wouldn't it be great to see him get in the ring with Cotto and get totally destroyed? Something lots of people in here would be celebrating. All of a sudden, people complain about this fight taking place.
It is like being the toughest kid in the 12th grade because you beat up all the 7th grade kids over at the middle school.
    Good point.
The whole everyone deserves one is crap. If DLH fought a natural 154lb fighter ranked 200th and had lost his last 10 by KO I would have given him more respect.
Then I guess we CAN give him credit for having such a resume as his.
